Cheap crap inside??, what, like that fake carbon fibre sticker that I've seem peeling off in two different st's!!!
Plastic fantastic all the way in the Scoob ha ha

Fords are much better built than they used to be, but I still don't think they come close to the long term durabilty of any Subaru. Yes, some of the plastics feel nicer to the touch, but I don't think they'll look the same after a few year's use.

The ST is a very nice car and I was seriously tempted myself. I just couldn't get excited about the thought of owning a Ford Focus. I don't think there is much difference in the performance, handling, comfort or practicalty. I just like security of having 4WD on wet roads.

Yes the carbon does look a bit naff on the new facelift models. But my subaru inside was total crap. Only good thing was the seats.

anyway back to the original point, The ST now has a Code Red fitted which takes the car up to 275bhp Now there is no contest compared to my WRX PPP

i have a 2003 WRX PPP and have raced many focus ST's (on private roads) in both standard and remapped versions- a friends st circa 275bhp, and my WRX PPP pulled on it with ease! his exact response was bl***y hell whats that running!? and just to add i work for ford and have driven many ST's- and my WRX feels so much better to drive etc, what i liked about the st's are the fact there very easy and sensible to live with for day to day driving and motoways etc.

Totally agree with you regarding day to day and motorways etc the focus is much better. Whats the bhp on a PPP 255? so you would expect the 2wd ST with 275 to be more than a match

what tubo you running?
should have gone for a 3'' turbo back
as that is low on torque for a 2.5 Bhp a bit down as well
and you should take rolling road figures will a pinch of salt

standard turbo so 390ftlb is realistic and 295atw is pretty good unless you're listening to people talking bullsh1t numbers, but that was on 2 rolling roads so can't be too far off

Personally, I think the ST is a great car, but like most people on this site, I prefer the WRX. You'll have a hard time getting people on a Subaru site to agree that the ST is a better car. If I thought so, I'd buy one, but I don't!

We'd all have to agree there is not a lot in it performance wise and depends more on the remap and the driver than the peak bhp.

well its qouted at 265ps- being realistic its prob only 250ish, and yes i would of thought it would of done me to be honest but i pulled on him pretty well.

Mate has one and i think it pulls hard, it has a stainless, air filter etc so it breathes better than std. i would say my 260bhp PPP would pull away but not sure on top speed

Hope there is some sarcasm there....would hardly call 2 car lengths at 140MPH "farting" over a car....a poor gear change in the Subaru could have easily seen that go the over way...even with two people on board in the other car

I don't normally bother with these my dick his dick threads but often read them as they are a good laugh....that comment just really tickled me, sorry...... i'll let you all get back to game

My car will **** on both of them and my Dad's car is better than yours

I'd buy the STi or the RS anyway.

No not at I don't have off days

I always call these type of thread "my dick his dick" and find then a little pointless as there are just some many factors involved when it comes to comparing car etc which is why I normally stay out of them (if you have nothing constructive to say etc).
I appreciate that some people like to see how their car compares etc, great have no problem with that, just doesn't float my boat.
I'm happy with the performance of my car end of.

The only reason I posted this morning was that I found it quite amusing that because someone was 2 car lengths ahead at 140MPH then there car is clearly faster.

At 140MPH you are covering circa 60meters plus a second,

given that a car is around 4 to 4.5 meters long that means a 9 meter gap would take around 150ms to make up, that’s not long and one slow gear change is all that takes......oh yeah I’m also quite sad for working that out

okay wideboy say what you like every one s entitled to their opinion but the st was being a pest and when i took him up on the challenge he came off 2nd best the st was trying and was being driven hard as was mine and he couldnt gain or pass me and broke off the game at indicated 140 as he was not able to gain on me....... i am pleased with my car though generally had a 56 reg leon fr gefore which was remapped to around 260 bhp and although that was quick probably a direct comparison to the st, the scoob has it an and i will most certainly have another next year when i ave saved a few more pennies.... move upto a variant of the sti thanks for your comment and maths

But it's a Focus. No amount of Lamborghini orange paint makes up for that.

Your welcome

If anything though this shows how good the focus ST is, that fact that in reality it kept up with a more powerful car.

Please be pleased with your car, I’m not at all slating it, were all here for the same reasons...our love and appreciation of Subaru's.....but does it really mater which cars are faster than yours and which are not if your happy with you car

Lets face it the ford has possibly one of, if not the best FWD chassis and has a better interior than the Subaru…..but it misses the vital parts, a flat four engine and 4WD which is why I would prefer to drive my Subaru than a Focus ST, but I don’t really care if the focus is faster or not.

I would like to no were all these track and privert roads are, people keep saying they raced a ford on.
Standard booked 0-60 on a ford st is 6.6 Meaning it's slower then the booked speed of a wrx of the same yr as that's 5.7. Saying this I would like to see average joe do a 6.6 in the ford with out lost of traction. The scoobs are pedal to the metal no traction lost buy buy ford. But the fords top speed is faster so a few miles down the road he will win. That's my 10 pence worth

these things are always good for a laugh. i had a play with a new rs the other week, was all over it out of the round about with traction etc, and once on the open straight it was dead heat- evenyually got a oppotunity and slip streamed him and got past. im still waiting for work to get there rs in so i can take it for a spin.

A WRX PPP doesn't have 260. Most people have reported about 225 tops. My 03 WRX PPP was rolling roaded at 187 at the wheels at AET which is about 225. An Ecutek remap took it to 218 at the wheels.

the factory standard figures for an 05 model wrx at the flywheel not 03 wrx without ppp is around 225 bhp at the fly and mine has been rolling roaded only once mind you but the figures showed 261.5 bhp at the fly and if you check out the results for the ppp package it is suppossed to give gain of around 35/40 bhp over the standard wrx and a noticeable gain in torque even if the rr was out by say 10% its still pushing around 240 bhp .... heres a link to some stats for you to check out
