Actually, the posted figures are in PS, so 225ps is actually 221bhp..

Same for the PPP 'figures', 265ps, not that I think many have ever made this..

Who's botherd, scoob faster then a ford st and rs for that matter as that's 5.7 .1 behind a bog standard wrx. That's stock and modded Scoob wins.

focus st is a great car, but as with all fwd cars its limited in anything other than dry conditions which generally we dont have (except these last few weeks lol)...ive had a focus ST2 and more recently an Astra 888 CDTi (202bhp 330lbft) but both are limited by fwd...

thats why i changed to a impreza...and its not god damn rained yet to test it out lol !!!

If you had read the thread from the start you would of noticed that i have owned both cars. And you will find a lot of non Subaru drivers use this site for various reasons. Its just a small minority that think the world revolves around there Scooby

Shopping-cart city cars aside, I could never go back to a front-wheel drive car.

We've got some new RSs at work. I've not had the oppotunity to try one yet, but I heard a couple of colleagues saying they were really impressive because you could wheelspin at 70mph in 3rd. I thought "Wheelspin, what's that?"

That's why 4WD is needed at 200bhp+

Mine did also, if wheels were slightly turned or road a bit damped it was a real handfull. Perhaps these people that talk about no wheelspin are driving old pieces of s**t that only have about 180bhp after years of abuse

Total different ball game though, a high powered impreza may slither a bit, but keep the foot planted and it'll come good. I'd like to see what a 370bhp(in my case) Focus is like in a damp cold December morning. A 280bhp WRX(newage) shouldn't have any traction issues.

true
i ve had my standard 1995 260bhp wrx import spinning its wheels in 1st 2nd AND 3rd from the lights!!! with toyo tyres in the dry....tho was a little bit of dust on the road. my clutch didnt smell too happy

ive been thinking about an st3 too.

i dont know why people buy the new RS i dont see the point what-so-ever.

you can buy a low milage ST3 and have it tuned at pumaspeed to 350BHP / 400ft/lb or 550 nm all for 10 K.

i think im just gonna upgrade my scoob

There was something wrong with it then.

My mint condition, low mileage newage with 280+bhp has no traction issues even when flooring it in heavy rain. You try doing that in yours.

I've already said the ST is a great car, but IT IS LIMITED BY THE 2WD!

Are you mad? of course the world revolves around our scoobies, this is scoobynet, or have i logged on to a Ford site by mistake?
The day i resort to driving around in a Focus like all the other minions will be a sad day, even if it's in green with Kermitt tossing off in the passenger seat!

I wasn't talking directly to you, we're talking 'normal' power levels here anyway. Try putting your power levels through FWD, you'd struggle to get out of your street.

[quote=Cockney Wideboy;8963251]Your welcome

Please be pleased with your car, I’m not at all slating it, were all here for the same reasons...our love and appreciation of Subaru's.....but does it really mater which cars are faster than yours and which are not if your happy with you car

Couldn't agree more. I love my Impreza, all 340 horses of it. Some days it feels the quickest thing on the road, and others it doesnt, but after owning it 3 years, it still makes me smile every time I drive it. I have mates with lovely cars, from focus ST's, evo's to audi R8's, and in some areas they are better than the scoob, but I wouldnt swap them. The main purpose of these cars is to enjoy them (they cost us enough!), and for me I think i will own a scoob for many years to come as I've driven nothing that I prefer as an all round package. Performance, Safety, Practicality, Cost, Reliablility..........
