Seems to be a slight contradiction between this post and the recent ones regarding oil levels, idling and the new turbo.

After the issues reported here, did you take the car to a reputable mechanic to have them sorted?

These issues are such an ****.

Its always quite interesting on SN, because if the new owner had posted a thread about buying a car that gave up the day after, the reaction would be the opposite to the common vibe in here! With people banging on about sales and goods acts and harp on the lines of fit for purpose blah blah and saying to give the previous owner hell.

My tuppence opinion is your second hand bottom end was past its sell by. By that I mean worn. Worn bottom ends can go on forever in that state, but if driven hard will give up the ghost very quickly.

I say this from experience because I have lost count of how many second hand "good" engines I or people have brought in, and upon strip down have been found to be past their prime. This is why I never advocate buying a second hand engine or bottom end and just plonking it straight ito a car without first stripping it down for inspection. This is no bad light on the person who sold you that engine either, as they could be unware of its condition as well.

buy from a franchised dealer if you want comeback

fvck me some people, he didn't have buy the fvcking car -- we are all adults arn't we

or maybe he should have bought a Nissan Micra of a retired female Schoolteacher

personally I would never buy a heavily modded car because I would be afraid it would go bang in a week, but if i did and it did then i would "take my beats like a man" as we would say in the school playground 30 years ago

Yup; this is exactly why I bought my car from a dealer; Which is curruntly in for warranty repair due to a duff flywheel (dual mass) and a suspected dodgy cam chain tensioner.

Yes its more money, but there's a reason for that
