Thanks for all the input everyone, I've been researching the Oynx and it doesn't appear a huge jump from what's currently on the market, for my uses anyway and seems a long way off so I think i'll have to go into the Vodafone shop and have a look at them both (the Curve and the Bold)

Oooh what are you doing with the chrome. Some great skins out there.
Having been on Crackberry I have seen a lot of ideas for the chrome. My neighbour is replacing his with yellow parts including the bezzle.

I'm thinking of making mine completely black, bit of stealth. I am looking at getting one of those resin cases, got a silicon one on its way for now.

All I need now is a decent armband for it.

quite a slick wee application especially for a fat bar stewart like myself. tracked my walk from the bus stop this morning 1069.96 yards. burnt 76 calories before i even got into work. then went and spoilt it by having 4 jammy dodgers with my coffee this morning

Can't get the fitness log uploaded to to the website yet using 3G. will try wifi tonight.

Still in beta atm so will be nice to see the finshed app with the bugs ironed out

I think is is really about these two. BB Storm is really a non starter. i have had no regrets about my bold. i am using my laptop alot less and have hardly touched my ipod in months. the BB is just so versatile and while they may not have as many applications as the iphone app store they are getting there at an incredible rate of knots.

They are strange like that aint they, replace so many things, when originally you had no plan to replace anything but a phone lol.
I am the same with my PC, dont use it that much. I really should start using the music on there too, but at the moment still walking about with too many devices haha.

Glad you are getting on so well with the bold.
I agree about the apps too, more and more coming out day by day, as BB's become more and more mainstream

The worst/best app I have used is Blackberry App World, you end up looking through all the apps and just getting them. Like you say it's an easy way to spend some money.

lol App World sucks, pants ones are free, good ones are pricey.
I like simple things like berrybuzz, simple but serves a purpose.

Rather than tip calculator, cab finder, and my most recent add then delete.. Shazam. I love Shazam but never use it these days.

I just tend to go through the threads on the forums and find the best apps for what I need/want these days.

God knows what i will be like when I have a berry with more than 1mb of spare memory lol

Thanks again for all the advice, went to sort my phone out yesterday, Vodafone shop wanted me to pay £100 to upgrade to a Curve!
I went to phones for U and upgraded my contract to the same tariff as I wanted direct with Vodafone and got the Curve for free, and they even bought my battered 6300 off me for £50 which was a bonus.
I looked at the Bold as well, the guy in the store had one, and couldn't believe how chunky it was compared to the Curve, put me off straight away, he said he would have the curve and wishes he had got it instead.

Just need to figure out what to do with it now

Well done that man.
First things first... press shift/alt/h together, make a note of your PIN and post it ere, or PM it. Dont worry its not like a bank card pin number lol. It means I can message you on Blackberry Messenger (BBM)

From there on in its plain sailing, add the SN people, and we can all advise you on things lol.

Seriously though. If you need anything you can add me on BBM 254D4E45 or PIN message me with the same info. Post here, or PM
Once you start using it properly it will all make perfect sense

PS the Bold does been clumsy next to an 8900 doesn't it. lol

Ill do that as soon as i've got the thing charged up, was advised to run it down and charge for 16 hours to get the best from the battery, so had a bit of a play yesterday just waiting another hour or so to get stuck into it!

lol you ******* Neil !

I would recommend the following

Berrybuzz * (would not be without it)
Viigo for loads of info news/sport etc, and great for RSS feeds
Facebook
FlickR if you like uploading photo's
Googlemaps
BBM 5.0 *
Googlesync
Quick Pull *

Those with * are MUSTS for me

Would be interested to see how you find it too, so do let us know.

CrackBerry.com ? The #1 Site for BlackBerry Users & Abusers
Great for advice, chatting, meeting randoms on BBM and buying apps and accessories.

I found out this morning that Quick Pull doesn't work if it's in the holster or locked which I thought was a bit pump.

Good app though as I will just leave it out of the holster.

Oh I meant to say, (i will find a link)
There is a thread on CB for recommended apps.
Some are more USA based, but you get an idea of the better ones.

Shazam is excellent if you are always wondering what a tune is thats playing

Lol thanks for the recommendations.
I've downloaded viigo, facebook, bb app world and vodafone sat nav so far as all are free.

A review so far-
In the last few years I have had numerous nokia phones samsung, sony ericcson, and an lg secret. The samsung was terrible, will prob never use them again. The lg was a very well built phone but a bit lacking beneath the nice crome surface. Nokia have always been good to me but my wife got a 6230 as an upgrade which I hate so it was down to iphone or blackberry for me. I phone put me off due to very poor contract deals. So to the blackberry. I looked at the 3 current ones the giuy in the phone shop advised they do not even try to sell the storm unless someone specifically asks for it. I forgot about that and chose the curve.
The curve is a lovely looking phone really good quality a big step up from my 6300 but not as complicated as I expected.
I'm still getting to grips with it but I've got the hang of downloading and got my email setup easily.
Browsing quality is very good.
One other thing I was concerned how I would cope with the small keys but even with my big thumbs I'm very quiuckly getting used to it.
So far I'd definately recommend one over an I phone as an overall package.
No doubt I'll be abused by thje iphone fans now.

lol good image, well done

James, you sound like me in the first days of having one. Once you get into the swing of things it all becomes second nature.
Learn the keyboard shortcuts too, they save time and help you out with doing things smoothly too
Browser for example, space bar is page down, B takes you to the bottom of the page, T to the top, H to the homepage, G opens goto etc....

We all use them for slightly different things, and when you are all set up for everything you wanna do, you will be happy
The thumbs thing, im like lightning now, and aint got small hands lol.

Try some trials out, like BerryBuzz, helps you get the hang of them. And being available as an OTA, there is no excuse not to try it... NOW !!

I wonder what they have done there then? Changed the name, withdrawn it or what. Wierd.
But lite looks identical to 2.0

In fact I know the answer, its a later version of 2.0 (being 2.1.1)
So I change my statement from get 2.0 to get lite lol

Cheers for pointing that out.
