Just a slight correction, Tiny and I where grinning at each other, and trying to calm each other down from about an hour and a half in, it was only the last 1/2 hour that we could no longer contain our excitement.

Well done guys. Your car was well prepared, looked good and you all drove very consistently, despite some over eager competitors.
I have to say I am envious, as ESC always seem to put on a better turnout than everyone else. I was chatting to one of the MLR organisers and they were very impressed by the sheer number of ESC peeps and equipment.
Quote of the day for me was:
I think someone just stuffed Phil up the A**e.
BIG sigh of relief when we realised he was driving the car that just got shunted ...

Some thanks / comments
Thanks to all the team and support before the event and at the event.
Simon your experience and guidance almost certainly significantly aided our cause.
Hils,- thanks you put in a huge effort.
Thanks to all the WAG's for allowing us to play and supporting us all so well. thank you.
Thanks again to the guys at Mr Clutch.
Brian and other's who didn't drive but was defo part of the team. cheers.
In truth we were not always the fasted car on circuit, but our tactics and the timing of the red flags were just right.
A special mention then for Speccy, the timing of the red flags meant that Steve chose to give up his last stint, thereby saving us a driver change which saved us 4/5 laps and allowed us to win by 3 laps. I'm sure we would have all done the same, but we also all wanted to get out and have fun driving. Cheers Steve.
Lastly;
We came,
We Saw,
We kicked some MLR *****

Its sitting outside my house at the minute. Back to MLR Hq next weekend for next years prep. Needs some slight bodywork repairs and slight scratches touching up. Other than that it is in very good condition really.

Current location - back of Spec C's transporter
Will be returning to Team ESC Headquarters next week to decide on MLR 2010!
Ops - Steve beat me to it! See above!
Steve to be first out next year!!
Forgot to add - as we were standing around drinking (much needed) coffee this morning, one ofthe teams drove past us in their race car - all lights refitted to make it road legal again............................awesome sight til we noticed the trail of oil it was leaving behind!
They said they had a 180 mile trip home - we hope you made it guys!!

MSOC 2 ... 7TH!!! Slow and steady.
MSOC 1 ... 10TH!!! Was targetted by other cars but kept on ploughing through.
ESC ...1st FRICKIN AWESOME GUYS!!!!!
Your boys did you proud guys, quality drive start to finish, well deserved win to a great bunch!
Think a heroes welcome is required for your team- maybe a tickertape parade. Well done to all that took part and all behind the scenes.
Seeing the look on MLR faces... Priceless.

To be fair i think Darin knew we meant business when we arrived in a convoy of vans & trucks @ 4pm on Friday afternoon
We know we don't do things by half
Little ole ESC conquers the MLR ( Must not forget the help from MSOC )

It was good to see all the Scooby teams working together
From Mending bonnets to making sure the ESC car got out in front in the last session
Sooo much to remember
I will still be smiling for weeks

LOL Not much !!
Those last few laps were something else , especially when car 14 got past , but he slipped out wide & we rinsed him up the inside
My driving Miss daisy came in handy @ the end Ta for all the little pep talks & sending me over & out of the way @ the halfway point when i was just a little excited at the thought of possibly winning the event

Those last stages were the most fraught I can think of. Simon coming out, after a watering stop, on his own & doing a lap before joining the others just coming back out gave us 1 lap on No14 who then came out behind Simon.
I was watching the screen & with the slight delay on each lap being recorded it was nail biting stuff all the way to suddenly hearing the engine noise die down outside & the realisation that it was over & we had done it.
Well done guys & gals it was a pleasure to have shared this with you all. One for my memoirs.

Well done ECS!!! Don't think our little girl liked the airhorns at the medal awards ceremony though!
For anyone who was there, we had the car with all the promo bugs on. We had a count of pounds today when we got home and had £120 in the pot so thanks very much to the many pink people who gave generously, see what the scrap man says tomorrow!
Hope you'll be back next year to 'defend your crown' so to speak!!!
