As for the bad stories there isn't any I know of, I know of at least 10 people who have had builds and or mapping by them and all are happy including myself let alone the thousands of others, with regards to warranty if I have a problem they sort it no questions asked which is how all professional Tuners should be.
"Cowboyism" is not in their nature - everything has to be prefect otherwise the car simply does not leave their garage, as you say there are many cowboys on here I've dealt with a couple. I have no idea where you are getting your information from but my opinion and comments is from first hand experiance and not assumptions

i have just had a 2.5 build done by engine tuner i have been fully informed through the whole build process. i have done just over 3000 miles and for once i can gladly say i havent had a single problem no oil stains, no funny smoke or noises and the after service has also been great with constant pms and emails and thats why people like me ki8llr and R4lly and many more are more than happy to travel over 250 miles to get work carried out.

I have chosen my tuner wisely Thank you very much, out of 5 tuners only 2 got back to me one of which was enginetuner when I was initially shopping around, customer service is also spot on not to mention excellent after sales service including out of hours.

There are many cowboys out there, but not enginetuner. Do a proper search and youll find the same.

I'm not having a build carried out by Enginetuner, but must admit Martyn is a top chap who has always promptly responded to my questions and queries I've asked of him. I believe Enginetuner have also set a very high standard on their recently built powerhouse WR1.
All I now look forward is going up against Martyn at Shakespear!

K18LLR,
As much as you are very happy with your service and product from EngineTuner, you still had to post on here and publicly question their opinion. Don't you think that's very bad form? I do believe you are as happy as you say, but a little faith would go a long way, as I imagine Martyn and Alan were dissapointed to see you post in this way. It suggests that if you asked them first, you didn't believe them, or you didn't even given them the courtesy of asking their opinion first before posting.

IMO the guy is asking for experiences from others with the same components which is what a bbs is all about.
Unfortunatley the way the thread has esculated is no fault of the OP or EJ

That's odd, as i have spoken to Anger several times recently about 2.1 engines, and he has always recommend the Engine Tuner package. Infact i think they are going to be building him one, so not sure where you get that from?

Put it this way, Subaru spend literally millions designing thier product, making it just so, then along come we car buffs, and start changing everything. There are bound to be compromises, be it noise, oil consumption, longevity, you name it. We tuners try and get it under control, to the point where the benefits of the performance increase outweigh the disadvantages. There may be perfectly good reasons why a particular circumstance occurs, and if we don't get any feedback, we could all be none the wiser.
I learnt to fly light aircraft decades ago, and quickly came to the conclusion that I wouldn't live long enough to learn from mistakes, so I learnt by reading about other peoples mistakes.
That's the good bit about forums!
The bad bit? well, you figure it out!

Not ever used enginetuner for any work but always been quick to answer my questions and point me in the right direction. It is there 2.1 build that helped me choose my next build of a de-stroked 2.35 If you have no facts then bury your head back in the sand and keep it there, instead of spouting garbage no one wants to read!

As for brown nosing - Martyn from Enginetuner as helped me out quite a bit before I started off my build and even during it. If you do not believe me then simply ask him.
As for Pennine Subaru, Pat H and Lateral P, they are the mastermind on my engine build which you have no idea about! Perhaps you should look up the term "give credit where credit is due"
As for looking forward to seeing me at the SDS series - don't know if this is a threat or not. Either way, you know where to find me.
