What has a thread about Scotlands independence got to do with the Welsh?? I'm English born and moved to Wales last year. Got fed up of living in a sh*thole

Quality spelling, not once but twice!!! Maybe you should learn Welsh, you might find it easier to spell the words........

Indeedy

As for the username, it comes from a character from the 1980's 2000AD comics, specifically a series of stories under the Name Nemesis the Warlock, Torquemada is the arch-nemesis of Nemesis

Universally accepted however, that whiskey is Irish, whisky is Scottish. It's the flippin' Yanks who come along and confuse matters, Jack Daniel's Whiskey a case in point, although they're more likely to be of Irish descent i suppose.

I love it when someone replies to a thread about incorrect spelling / grammar, then another guy then corrects his :-)

I’m incredibly bored at work today, so I’m not normally this annoying or opinionated :-)

I’m just tired of reading about how many in Scotland want independence. Well I say give it to them. As long as we keep Wales, mmmmmmmm tremendous roads.......

:-)

LOL

If you want to talk about contrubution, you may wish to know that only the Eastern, Greater London and South East regions have made a positive contribution to the UK economy in recent years and that, for example, the North East and North West of England combined "cost" the UK more than Scotland does.

In practice it is not England as a whole that is subsidising other parts of the UK, but the most prosperous parts of the UK ‘subsidising’ both the non-English parts of the UK and the rest of England as well.

Of course, if we properly apportion oil revenues by territorial waters, then Scotland has been bankrolling much of England for many, many years.

As Jasey has alluded to, had Scotland gained its independence years ago, we'd be in a considerably better financial position than we are now.

And as for the perpetual slagging off of the kilt, are you what, like, 12 years old?

Oil won't run out, not in my lifetime, not in your lifetime, not in our children's and grandchildren's lifetimes; that is for sure. Only scaremongers say "it will run out soon". Soon, how do you define soon? Just a little fact for you; most capped oil wells still have upto 40% oil reserves. Reason why they are capped off at upto 40%? Too expensive to recover the rest, at the moment. When oil was at US$140 p/brl, it was getting close to the economical cost of recovering the "other post peak oil" oil, that is using current technologies, of course. North sea oil production "peaked" in 2001, expected to be well before that when it came online in the '70's. But the media like to scare, it sells.

Build your wall, the oil will go, by sea, somewhere else.

Sad, but that's where it's from
Torquemada in 200AD was named for the Spanish Inquisitor of the same name, who was equally as evil.

It's even sadder that I knew that when I was a lad reading 2000 AD

What was Nemesis's ship called?

That was one of the worst streams of unpunctuated, poorly spelled English I have ever seen. Well done for re-enforcing the Scottish stereotype

If England is so bad, why do you speak it's language (albeit poorly) ?
