LOL
If you want to talk about contrubution, you may wish to know that only the Eastern, Greater London and South East regions have made a positive contribution to the UK economy in recent years and that, for example, the North East and North West of England combined "cost" the UK more than Scotland does.
In practice it is not England as a whole that is subsidising other parts of the UK, but the most prosperous parts of the UK ‘subsidising’ both the non-English parts of the UK and the rest of England as well.
Of course, if we properly apportion oil revenues by territorial waters, then Scotland has been bankrolling much of England for many, many years.
As Jasey has alluded to, had Scotland gained its independence years ago, we'd be in a considerably better financial position than we are now.
And as for the perpetual slagging off of the kilt, are you what, like, 12 years old?

hoochydady - I enjoy reading your threads, as they even sound scottish :-)
One thing I do like about kilts ( see Ive learnt the correct spelling now ) is that each family has thier own tartan pattern. Also, a Scottish mate of mine, who's recently had a son, followed family tradtion and used `Drumond` as his middle name. Seems all males in his family are named accordingly.

Steam engine - errrr, No.
Insurance - if you have evidence of Scottish Insurance products predating the Babylonian loss protection of around 1750 BC then - errrr, No. Indeed in 1750BC I suspect the Scots were still learning to bang the rocks together!
Stockmarket - if you mean a market for tradeable stocks then probably beaten to it by hundreds of years by the French, Belgian and Italian developments between 11th and 14th Century. The first tradeable instruments in a company were traded in Amsterdam and were for the Dutch East India Company - errr, No.
You did miss one.
Chicken Tikka Massala - possibly!
Oh and Highland Cows.
Even the kilt does not originate in Scotland.

So if it wasn't John Logie Baird from Helensburgh who invented TV, who was it?
Agree there. James Watt didn't invent the steam engine. He just improved it significantly by adding a condensor.
However a Scotsman was the founder of the Bank of England (which was after the founding of the Bank of Scotland).
Steam engine - errrr, No.
