Energy saving bulbs have cost me a small fortune increased electricity bills, due to the fact that I stupidly put them in the front living room triple light with timer switch
The timer worked fine, but the bulbs actually stayed on 24/7 whether the timer was on or off, i didnt realise this for quite a long time, as I thought the faint glow of light on the bulbs was from the street light outside

I HATE the low energy effin' bulbs! HATE THEM, HATE THEM, HATE THEM!! 
It makes me spit! Why the **** should we be dictated to about something as fundamental as the kind of light we have in our homes? Why are we all just accepting it? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......................

Because you keep voting for political parties that want to keep us in the EU maybe?! (thats Conservative, Labour, Lib Dems and Greens by the way)
