I always thought the people giving Sara stick did so because they knew they'd never get her into bed.
Apparently I was wrong and there was this big dark thing going on in muppets...

Bubba is just a bully, he obviously gets off on it.
The muppets made me feel very unwelcome when I first joined so can understand where Markus is coming from.
I don't see that Sara is doing any harm, I think its just a case of her getting more attention that Bubba who thinks because of his post count he is owed some power crazed status.
At the end of the day if you don't like her posts then put her on ignore.

Would anyone else like to pop out of the woodwork with their reminiscences of being hard done by, in the W.I. coffee morning that was the Muppet show?

Deluded. Really, really deluded. What name did you post under in Muppets? Can you link me to one single humorous post that you made in Muppets? Please.

Christ i think you'll take this one to the grave with you, Markus. For the God-knows-how-many time;
1. There was no organised clique. No pm's, no secret agenda. Nothing.
2. People who were able to post more, obviously had more influence over the direction the Forum went.
3. Nobody was intentionally excluded. There was a formula, it worked well.
4. Those who had a good sense of humour, and were resilient to a bit of ego-bashing, were welcomed. We didn't go into Muppets en-masse, it evolved.
5. You, and other i could mention, were far too precious for your own good.

The fact you mention formula above is a good example. Whose formula exaclty? Yes, the one derived by that very same clique that is denied exists. Why should there be a formula? Who made it a forum purely for those who abided by such formula and who gave them the right? It was not a membership forum it was open to all. Just because the gang who posted most felt it was their own didn't actually make it so. It comes across as very much we posted the most so it was our forum to treat others how we liked.
What I don't get is why couldn't the clique just confine themselves to their own posts and leave anyone else who wanted to post get on with it without making them feel unwelcome or ridiculed through 'unfunny' replies to those people's posts?
Certain clique members have also extended their self believed 'superior intellect' into NSR at times, more so now with the death of the muppet forum. The gang is still alive and kicking unfortunately with their jibes and self appointed superiority.

Bob, it's chicken and egg. I'm surprised somebody didn't jump on the point i made above sooner to be honest. Some of us were able to post a lot. We got to know each other. New people came in. And here's the thing - nobody was told with a straight face that they weren't wanted before they'd even opened their mouth. I think it's THAT bit that people don't see, to throw that phrase back out there again. Some people on here have said that they were made to feel welcome, others say they weren't. Do you think we had a huddle to decide somebody's fate before they'd even opened their mouth? Of course not!! The only difference between whether somebody "got" Muppets or not was due to what they wrote, and how they reacted to what was already there. It's inevitable that a place with regular, prolific posters would take on an identity all of its own. But that is NOT the same as saying it was a closed shop. It most certainly wasn't. New people DID join in, as i said before, we didn't arrive as a pre-formed group and usurp whoever was there before us. It just didn't happen like that. The strong personalities were obviously going to have more to say. Whose fault is that? I just think it's wrong to suggest that it was a "club" to which there was no access. All we needed, was to be able to say what we wanted, how we wanted, to whom we wanted, when we wanted. And very, very few people are able to withstand that without getting offended, or feeling "unwelcome". And to dilute/sanitise that ability, as Simon religiously did, resulted in just one inevitable outcome - the death of the forum. Read into that what you will.

This is an interesting little thread
I never quite made it in Muppets, dont know about cliques but everyone seemed to know each other very well and had more time than most to strike up internet relationships, seems there was more to it according to some posts It's the internet not real life
I think I only ever made a handful of posts in there but this was one of my better ones
You Can't Spell by Rob Manuel [B3TA : WE LOVE THE WEB]
Not as funny today but it obviously tickled me 7 years ago

I didnt quite make it either, yet in the early days thats were all my post ended up.
I had heard of the great Bubba (GrandMaster MelliMel) and tried to geg in on a few threads but was nicely shown the door, a bit like a confused child who had run into the wrong caravan.
I had heard of the great get togethers and ensuing orgies, and all the inuendo and secret messages that went with it....
I imagined it to be a bit like a roman god and goddess scene, with Bubba in the vat of pure asses milk, being fed grapes and getting sucked off by ££$%^&**&^....the large mounds of coke being passed about to the minions to get then whipped up to fenzy.
That how I imagined it anyway.

A few paragraphs or something might have enabled me to read that
