I feel qualified to answer you here. There are a lot of posters that remember what happened when they did post and so wont post again for fear of intimidation etc. Knowing what i know about what went on, maybe still does in the Tent, puts one off some what
In some cases, the less said the better

I'm surprised it hasn't been moved to 'The Hutch'.
To be honest, I didn't have a problem in there. Yes, I had the pi55 ripped out of me when I first went in, but there wasn't any downright nasty stuff (not to my face, anyway).

I used to post in there, i never felt as though i fitted in (maybe something to do with size ) but at the end of the day i don't give a toss as its only the tinterweb and not real. What i did notice, that some people did get a hard time, Hectic for one, though i know he can stand up for himself and he does like a wind up. Like its already been said so people are more resilient than others.

I first started using this site more, after meeting some people in the flesh, and being encouraged to go into Muppets.
I can't really say I was made to feel unwelcome, but I never really 'got' it, and had the feeling you had to know the posters better, to know what was going on, and to have a chance of fitting in. I can't say that was deliberate, but I suppose it's what happens when a regular few post within he same section.
I think I missed (if it wasn't before my time) alot of what went on, as I just came out of threads for the above reason. You felt everyone knew what was going on, how it all worked (all unwritten), so you couldn't really join in as a newbie. Maybe that's because I'm not really funny(well not in he right way), or really outspoken, but I'm not the only one to feel this sort of way.
I can't call people for being in cliques, as I didn't see this from the earlier days.
I can however, understand how people become mates and maybe for some newer members, NSR can have a similar vibe. It's easy to feel left out if you are new. I would say, if **** taking happens from the off, or if someone is subjected to it because they don't fit a certain criteria, that isn't very nice imo.

I remember going into the tent using someone else's user name because they wanted me to see what was going on in there. This was in the little private section that was created to keep some people out. I dont know if you had access to this area.
If some people on SN knew what was going on i think this place would be very different now. I think i am going to try and find some of the stuff i read about myself and others that still post on here.

I'm not sure why people are so agrieved at not being welcomed by the 'muppets', seems to me they had a lucky escape ...
... was never inclined to visit myself, most of the self-confessed muppets that post in NSR seem a bit mentally / emotionally retarded to me

Ah the hazy days of the original muppet bbq's Gotta love the look on Rob's face too. Probably post wetsuit time as well, thus more booze induced hijinks going on.

Hey, I still have my bi-monthly erections! (well, most of the time)
Or... how it does seem to stand still sometimes, and people bitching about stuff that happened a long time ago.
And I'm also amazed at how much backbiting Muppets has caused (in the end). I'm glad I'm not privvy to any of the gory details. I used to post there just for fun.
Bubba, why did you feel the need to start this thread? I'm curious, honestly.
