400bhp plus on 2005 wrx

Really..?
I remember (probably still have the mag somewhere) when Extreme did one of the first 2.5 conversions to an 05 WRX in Scoobymag and I'm sure they said they were 380cc injectors as std..! Def grey/blue as I have a set on the shelf..

TBH if you're starting with a std WRX and you want north of 300 you're better off starting with something else (STI or [wash my mouth out ] an EVO) as with the wrx you'll need to spend big money on brakes for sure and also suspension. Std size wheels and tyres look way under-tyred, so big money there- also needed to clear brake upgrade..!
To do it properly the list goes on and I know as I've been there, although I had my wrx from new and modded it straight away. So at the time, the value of the car v's mod money was still at a sensible ratio. I've addressed all the short comings on my car to cater for 350bhp without any real bottle necks/weaknesses, but it cost a lot of £££.. Going beyond that, other issues start to become a factor (ie gearbox/rods/pistons..etc) and IMO the real world gains are minimal. On the road my WRX is more than equal to a well mapped/decatted c380/400 hawkeye spec c and that makes me more than happy enough..
I still say a decatted and well mapped TD04 wrx, with some decent front pads/hoses and fluid, rear ARB and solid drop links is a hard package to beat. On the road they're a real fun drive and you will surprise a lot of bigger power cars, evo's and sti's alike..! Don't forget WRX's are nearly 100 kgs lighter than the STI's, which is worth 30-40hp..! The money this will cost is a fraction of what 300+ will cost to do right..!
