We do not need Sharia law or any other form of 'extremist' Law importing onto the UK, what we need is an overhaul of the current system and more fitting punishments to some crimes. If not detrerrants then capital punishment for the most nasty/evil of crimes.

Sharia Law is so much more than just capital punishment.

If I had first hand knowlege of any of the parties involved I might be - but I don't.
Anyways, I imagine it is very difficult to deter 11 year old wanna-be murderers.
Perhaps reform of the social welfare system, rather than the judicial one is more called for?

Well I'm not really interested in revenge myself.

Reform of the judicial system along with social reform are what is required, hand in hand really. However, whilst this is being done we have to deal with the current generation and maybe the next one or two as well.

not far enough Les, I'm sorry. these kids don't deserve to live. they don't deserve to breathe the same air as anyone else. if my extreme views offend I apoligise to all on SN. stuff like this makes me (a very easy going fell by all accounts) vengeful. i feel like dishing out what they did to that young lad. I would have no mercy dropping a sink on their heads, shoving a stick down their throat, forcing them to sexually abuse each other, stab them, burn them with cigarettes, tie them up with barb wire, stamp on their heads until they are blinded, urinate on them. As for the parents, they would be sterilised, and have everything taken from them and not be allowed to claim benefits (let their own families look after them at their expense)
What you suggest although effective would never be possible these days of course. This useless lot in charge just don't seem to believe in any form of punishment anyway which is one very good reason for the troubles we are in today.
The only cure for this sort of behaviour is a punishment which is so unpleasant that they will just not want to go through it again. The moral degradation that this country has experienced over the last 12 years or so means that it is probably virtually impossible to undo the harm which has been done.
