A quick recommendation needed for those with a newage WRX and recommend which oils you've used personally and like.

Mine is an 02 bug with minor mods on 70k.

5w-40, 5w-40 oil, 5w40, 5w/40

Out of those, the best ones are the Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. I would stick with one of those as the engine is pretty powerful
Been using the Silkolene Pro S in my performance jap cars for years now... not let me down yet! Gonna buy 10L from you tomorrow

Oilman - I've noticed on your website that you are now stocking Millers and list 10w/50 CFS. Is this a new grade offered by Millers as it isn't even listed on their website?

Yep, Millers CFS 10w-50 is brand spanking new.

We asked Millers to bring it to the market as the Silkolene Pro S 10w-50 is such a big seller.

We are now Millers Distributors but the launch is next week when we will have special exclusive to Opie Oils offer to accompany the launch.

More Millers products will be coming to our site in the next few weeks including some more products that are new to the market.

Cheers
Simon

For the engine go for a a 10w-50

10w-50 oil

Either of those are very good, very high quality oils that are ideal for high power cars

For the gearbox, go for either the Motul Gear 300 or Silkolene Silktran Syn 5.

75w-90 Gear oil

Cheers

does it ,matter what bearings etc ur running, such as acl race bearing.

my engine is new DIY build and at min running on a mineral oil 10w 40, done 100 miles so far. should i now put the best oil in??

or is there a procedure i should follow?

what grades / semi / fully synthetic?

what sorta mileage intervals?

I would change the oil about now, then again at 250, 500 and finally at a 1000 miles put the good stuff in. Stick to basic mineral or semi oils until the change at a 1000 miles, but there is another way of doing it involving cycles of hard revving and easing off, but I'm not an expert in that by any means.

The bearings will be fine with the mineral oils and finally a good ester synthetic
