i might have done well if i could stop getting lost on the track, kept finding cones under the ra-r after each lap,
i think the track was a bit disapointing 5 hairpins and 1 kink, ideal for quick spooling cars.
you all look worried in the pics, did you know something that i didnt

I prefer proper tracks - airfields are a bit mickey mouse IMO.
My car was built, specced and developed for time attack and I didn't see the point of risking messing up the chances for snetterton up there with nothing to gain from doing it and everything to lose.
So, you decided whether you will be in club next year ?

Duncan,
You want to watch yourself up on that perch, looking down on us mere mortals. I suspect that TOTB on an airfield, that you yourself took part in this year (and got beat by Rob North in his advanced shopping trolley on the handling circuit) was also mickey mouse..... let alone the ScoobySprint Championship. I am pretty sure that the likes of Prodrive and RCM and many other Professional establishments, would not share your view.
I agree with you.... you certainly DID have a lot to lose entering any round of ScoobySprint. Which had nothing to do with your Time Attack Season and everything to do with getting beat by much lesser spec'd cars!!

fpmsl Shaun - why do you take everything so personally and turn everything into a bitching competition?
Yes I did TOTB, it was an honour to be chosen to represent Team Subaru and I tried my hardest to get points for the team. It was a great day and I enjoyed it because of the team spirit. The fact that I had plenty of time afterwards to make good anything that happened (luckily nothing did) made it all the better.
As to what events I do - why should I be pressured into doing an event that I didn't want to do, had not budgeted to do, to risk breaking something and ruining the chances of me getting out there in 2 weeks time at Snetterton to finish the job in TA (which has been the sole focus of this year) ? .... all because you would be calling names - Shaun get a life dude. You can keep your petty little so and so did this that and the other better than you - i am not bothered.
Can we get back to the topic of this thread .. ie Time Attack now or do you want to swing your handbag some more?

You going to run your shopping car at the last Time Attack at Snetterton, which iirc is a circuit you like? Would be interesting to see what time it could achieve round there.

IMO the rules are a shambles, far too many cars with 500-600+ competing with cars 300-400 in club class for easy points kind of taking the fun out of it IMO

I agree. The series will just disappear up its own *** if they don't bring in decent regs that give the guys running a tight budget a chance, at least in club class. It has already lost a lot of entrys compared to last year.

Interesting you mention RCM Shaun, as i was having a casual chat with Matt Clark yesterday, and we got talking about the sprint type circuits that are at events such as TOTB and SSO, and his view was that they don't really interest him, as they are not what the car was designed for, so saying a shopping car got within .2 of a second of/or beat the gobstopper doesnt bother him one bit, because he knows that when the same cars go on a proper circuit, the time difference will be huge.

I'm sure RCM's car would give most (in fact it has already) a good pasting, in whatever discipline. If you think I would EVER compare a sprint car with a track car, then you must be back on the funny pills.

Yes... I was comtemplating doing Snetterton, but I know my driving is no where near good enough. Having a driver that can actually pedal, I know a pretty much standard Spec C can get around there in at least the 1:18's (as Litcho did in TunerGP 2006)... so yes, I suspect with Simon driving it could potentially do well for what it is.
But no... I am not running TA at Snetterton, but will be doing Snetterton the Thursday before, to get that much needed practice in. I would expect my car would get trounced anyway...... i'm not THAT stupid!

Anyway.... apologies to the OP!

There certainly needs to be detailed class peramiters. Not just a very strange 5% timing rule. It should also be based on the car, not the drivers ability (I think I have said that a few times now).
