I was under the impression the "aggresive" term was referring the the amount of camber that was being run....
I see where you are coming from with the Ht autos diffuser.......it wouldn,t go on my car unless it had proven gains or had been designed in a wind tunnel or similar...lol...So the aggressive look is not for me...even though it does look ubber cool..

lol that's fair enough. Like i said it's a new thing and people are uneducated on it. People might think when they see "Aggressive Fitment pics" that someone has fitted something and got pissed off doing so lol.
More and more you'll see it and it will end up being as common as a diffuser for example.
It's unpractical and hardwaring on the car. No doubt scuffs will occur and negative camber will increase tyre wear. CV boots will need changing and the driver will be forever worrying about the dreaded curb stone.
But it's different and we like it

I,m still struggling too see how this is a new movement.....as has been previously posted the Volkswagon Dub guys have been doing this for years....![Ponder2](images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
Theres a Polo across the road from me with what looks like 13" polished alloys which stick out about an inch slammed to the ground with tyres stretched on the rims....
Hardly something fresh of the press.....
Maybe i just dont get it....

None of those are aggressive. This is where things will change over here. If you know the aggressive thing you'll understand what it's about. It's not going out and running big spacers.
You need stance and a decent set of rims. A decent offset helps too.
If i had to describe aggressive to those unsure this would be the ultimate

That's fine that's YOUR car! And stretching tyres on a Golf not a Scoob.
I think it's best left as you either know what it's all about or forget it. I'm not saying tyre stretching is new at all. But tell me how many Jap cars you've seen doing it?
Oh and if you wish to say because they don't want to hinder performance don't bother. That's why most guys with a wide wheel have spares.

it has been around for years on the dub / drift scene but if u click onto naisoc u will see its highly popular in the us subaru scene , not new but hasnt been done alot over here thats why people are having a pop at it . at the end of the day why not !! its something different on scoobs , like no spoilers , carbon panels, time attack cars , so i think let the guys get on with it , its something they enjoy and are trying out . no harm done imo , weather u think its **** or not !

It's just a style thing and makes no difference whatsoever to anything else other than performance, which it hinders. What's the point?
I can't see it catching on and being that common at all. A total pain in the **** damaging them apart from anything else.

wow this is some strong stuff. but when you think about it, its just a trend not really a cause for a debut. the thread was asking for "aggressive" looking classics to be shown but in reallity there isn't many classics like this not on ere anyway. so why not show the types classic we do have. ie TA/road racers? afterall some may class that as an aggressive look. (really starting to hate that word)
however, we must remember that low cars and negative cams have been on jap motors for some time now thanks to the difting trend, just not so much on scoobys' due to the TA trend.
anyway, the majority of america are not to bothered about performance hence the low as you can go approach. the only trend they follow is vanity, if the car looks good i look good. and lowered cars alway look good.

my opinion : stretched rubber & slammed to me is a Euro thing not " aggresive look "
Aggressive to me is something u look at in your rear view mirror and think that's gonna chew me up , i do suppose that yes this stretched rubber slammed look can help with the aggresive look from side angles but how can stretched rubber and no other mods be classed as aggresive
To me it's just a renamed euro look for japanese cars
I do like the look on the VW golfs , polo's etc but there slow show cars LOL and it's growin on me on the scoob but wouldn't throw away my handling and performance for the look and would not class it as "aggresive" look by just changing the rims/rubber & slamming

i believe he meant more "aggressive wheel fitment".....yea its not for everybody, but it is something outside the box.....like the whole "rally graphics" its for some people not everybody.....
majority of the aggressive fitment is more of a style and some are functional, i cant say all are.....
same as putting on the rally graphics, just because you have the rally graphics doesnt mean its full out rally car.....

Just had a quick scan through this thread, interesting stuff..seems to me like the 'aggressive' look is similar to the 'euro' look on other small hatches, stretched tyres, smoother body panels etc? I quite like it personally.
