We have THREE chippies all worth a visit, plus two more for the pies and stuff and a fish restaurant. Mind, we are only half an hour from Grimsby docks.

Used to get that from a Kebab shop on Yorkshire st in Oldham..
It was the only place open when we had finished on the door..
Think it was called Aktars...??? Think it was either next door,or but one to the Mess house.
Never had the squits either...Bonus!!
OT a bit,but whats Oldham like for a night out now..Havent been there for 15 yrs or so !!

Do you remember the scouse doorman who used to work at Scruples? Goatee beard and ponytail? I never knew his name but he was a proper chap!

Yep....
The fella was called Mike.... He was a good bloke and had quite a few beers with him.We used to go in scruples after our shift..It could get pretty hairy in there sometimes..
I used to work in Nissan on St Mary's way and Bramwell Mitsubishi on Middleton road as a Tech..
So.........Where's Gold star then ?? May have to try one for old times sake...!!

Looks like a truckers cafe but the chinese food served here is amazing, Egg Fried Rice and Black Bean Sauce with Roasted Veg or Spicey Chicken, can't beat it

My cousin got potted by a guy in Scruples and Mike (Scouse) found out the guys name, because he was disgusted at what had happened. Lets say that the lad who did it had a shock on the following friday when he finished work at 3pm to find four big lads waiting on his works car park for a "chat!"

I started going into Oldham when I was 17, in 1990. It was a great place back then TBH! Grapes, Harrys bar, Scruples, Yates's, Wrens Nest, Greaves, Hare and Hounds, Coal Hole, Bath Hotel, Monty's, Dreamers, Cabaret. . . .
I used to go in Butterflies as well. It shut down in the mid-90's and re-opened as Zanes and then closed again within a couple of years.
This makes me wanna get out a '90s compilation cd. . . .

You have missed out the creme de la creme of Oldhams hotspots though.......Henry Afrika's....Horrible!!!!
