Great news Tyrone

S202'S, 204'S 22B'S and the like are a bit special so IMO other than a little map tweak should be left as god intended.

If it had have been in white I might have been in the q as well

Enjoy

Well done Tyron

The only changes I would do personally are minor.... it would be a full Miltek system, if the car has a twin scroll turbo it would include the down pipe developed for the twin scroll, Bob will be able to advise you on that before the map and of course I would get it mapped for v power... it would also benefit from a 4 wheel alignment to help you on the uk roads (I would recommend that to everyone) over than that you have the full package in one so stop spending buddy

Well done

I'd remove the cusco coilovers as they not ideal for UK roads, also what is a 6 speed close deck gearbox?.

The S202 comes with a titanium exhaust as standard which is alot lighter than a Miltek so not really a worth while modification other than a decat pipe. Also I believe the S202 uses a single scroll VF34 turbo so a decat and remap should see around 345bhp & 345 Ib/ft with a large power band.

I know that we love to encourage fellow scooby owners to spend their hard earned cash.
But surely Dyl4n has got the record for this year at least

Ty,your gonna have to invest in some barrier ropes to put around it at the shows we go to.

What with your new ride and Mervs motor it's going to be a packed meeting in Oct.

Again mate many congratulations

The twin scroll turbo setups didn't come as standard on JDM cars until 2003 and the release of the blobeye. The S202 benefited mostly from weight reduction and suspension modifications by Sti such as the 4 way adjustable adjustable shocks and spherical bearing lateral links. Also the Sti bugeye was the only Subaru to be fitted with forged pistons as standard, all other Sti Subaru's use cast pistons.

If you decide 345bhp isn't enough power the IHI VF34 turbo responses well when fitted with a larger P20 housing found on the earlier VF22 turbo. When using the larger housing with the original compressor wheel gains of 25 bhp are possible without much increase in lag. So easily achieve 370 bhp on pump fuel and near 400 bhp with v power & 10% methanol and will out perform most bigger powered lagger cars on the road.

The bugeye is definitely growing on me and it looks a lot better with the JDM STi headlamps , I cannot stand the UK lamps or the Morette lamps either (sorry UK or Morette owners).

I fully intend to enjoy it fully and other than a mapping session it will be staying the way that STi intended.

As Bluerigster has already stated it has a VF34 turbo and a titanium exhaust system so they will be staying as is, I am quite looking forward to switchable maps with perhaps pops & bangs on the higher level map.

I will happily blend into the background as Mervils engine is the real crowd stopper although it will be nice to own something a little out of the ordinary.

A bit of a expensive way to join (even beating Red's expensive bidding) but I am glad to join the club.

Anyone got a recommendation for a sports cat or decat pipe? Also what is the exhaust emissions legislation and imported cars?

TBH even with 345bhp I would be more than happy, I will be running it on V Power the same as my Hawkeye but other than a mapping session I do not really plan to do anymore to it in power terms.

All import cars post 2001 are SVA tested so without a sports cat you won't pass your MOT emissions test unless your cars emissions are test on a different car by mistake. I believe the bugeye Subaru has a cat fitted to both the up pipe and down pipe, so you could run a decat up pipe and a sports down pipe. A sports cat will restrict your engines breathing slightly compared to a full decat and the engine will lose roughly 3 bhp. Ninja sports cats are resonably priced by still cost over twice the amount of a decat.

Ty - didn't Jarvis have a 100 cell for sale, the TSL thunder cat looks good, do you know what size the exhaust is, i.e. 3" down to 2.5" or 3" straight ?

Simon, I have tried looking on the internet to see if it is a 2.5 or 3" system but there is no information on it unless anyone knows different...

I guess Scoobs have the 2.5 as standard even the Sti stuff, but that said you never know what they put on this one - is it Titanium all the way through Ty - or just the B/Box?

I would guess a fair chunk off the exhaust has to be titanium as I am sure I read somewhere thanks it saves either 11lbs or 11kgs over the standard exhaust system.

With all the goodies as standard id say it definately has a 3" system. Cant see someone making a 2.5" titanium system.
