Fat People?

I am quite surprised by you here, as I've often found you quite reasonable and sensible in the way you post. Guess I was way out there, even if this was a bit tongue in cheek.
If you look back, you'll often find I post on threads that are there to say all Muslims are terrorists to add a bit fairness and many other threads that like to generalise and insult people who are doing no harm to others to try to add a bit of reason. That doesn't mean I can't comment here just because it's 'not so important'. There are some nasty comments on here, that I genuinely are meant and not just a joke and I'm not going to feel ashamed for posting back because there are more serious matters to worry about.
People who are ignorant and rude towards fat people are often the same people who are ignorant and rude about many other people out there.

but i do get increasingly fustrated by the racist and biggoted undertones on these forums -- which often go unchallenged
you know posts that think sinking refugee boats in the med is a perfectly acceptable means of immigration control
and my post was just an attempt to highlight this mentality
appologise if i have caused offence

Well i cant see this thread being any different from a full blow racist thread and that would not be left on so why is the fat thread left on im not happy and im sure all us fatties are going to have our own we hate skinny people with small di..ks thread ..
Best way to highlight the mentality is to warn the idiots and then boot them off they no good to society ..

You seem sensible and normally stand up for what you believe and say things contrary to the ignorant views of others. Which is commendable, I think that is why I am so shocked you have decided to start this thread.
No matter how frustrated you get by narrow minded views on here, making a thread that makes you look the same, with a different target doesn't really help you make your point in my opinion.

They haven't been given the basic skills that you take for granted.
It takes a lot of education & coaching to develop a "nice" human being - something that a lot of parents don't seem to realise.

Poorly educated and obese. Linked. Discuss.
Mr Big Fud, i just loved your use of the phrase "good living". Mate it's gluttony, pure and simple. Give up the excess pies before you're another statistic on the Type 2 diabetes register...

I would, if I weren't so busy being paralysed by laughter.
Tel, you usually make a lot of sense, regardless of whether I agree with your point of view, but that is just a ridiculous suggestion.
Or how about we all just live our own lives and leave everyone else the Hell alone?
Just because you don't want to be overweight or end up with a weight related health issue, it's not for you, or anyone else, to judge the lifestyle of other people. As far as I am aware, nobody on here is the Simon Cowell of body shape and none of us have opted to star on The XXL-Factor.
Some don't care about their weight and some have other problems to contend with. One thing is sure though, very few of those people will be "helped" or convinced to change by abuse and rude or snide comments and taunts from other people.
Although obesity is usually the result of over-eating, it's very often little to do with the food itself and might well not be just greed. I know this for a fact because I've been there. It's just like any other compulsion. People who wash their hands every 5 minutes are not doing it because they really think their hands need washing - they know as well as anyone else that they did it 5 minutes ago, but telling them to "just stop doing it" is as useful as telling someone with a problematic relationship with food to "just stop eating".
Some of you won't be able to understand that. Fair enough. But if you don't get it, just SHUT THE **** UP and stop making life harder for those people who not only get it but live with it every second of every day. Go and tell paraplegics to "just get up and walk FFS, you lazy *******". It'll have just as much effect.
I've swung between compulsive eating, bingeing and then purging and borderline anorexia for a very long time now. In the last few years my weight has changed dramatically, both up and down, and I've varied between a size 12 and a size 18. Absolutely none of that is anything to do with a lack of education, a lack of knowledge of nutrition, salad dodging, laziness, or how doughnuts taste. In fact, during a binge I have very little concept of what I am stuffing down my neck actually tastes like because it's not about the food. And yeah, I have problems. What those problems are is actually none of the business of anyone here. In fact none of this is the business of anyone here, I'm only mentioning it to explain where my perspective comes from. I leave myself wide open to abuse by saying it, I realise, but then that's nothing new here, where any perceived weakness or difference makes it open season. It's not actually new anywhere because the bog-standard, first line of insults ever to be directed at a female target is virtually always 'fat' and 'ugly'. I'm actually pretty immune to the insults of others by now, because I am what I am and all I can do at any time is my best. As long as that's the case, I don't have to answer to anyone else; judgemental Scoobynetters included.
And for anyone with smart arsed comments to make, I suggest you go and remove the logs from your own eyes. That way you'll be better able to see the fat people you are making fun of.

Maybe we should have stuck with the relative merits of “going big going early”
Tbh honest not something I’ve tried to date – but at my stage in life it might be an appropriate modus operandi

yes off course, that would be perfectly acceptable
look - as a watch wearing bike riding Muslim with Romany blood who has recently emigrated to this country, hanging onto the wheels of the Eurostar - direct from a campsite in France -- I find some comments on this forum objectionable

I go along completely with Lisa's opinion on the subject of this thread and the sort of posts that it has generated from some people.
There will be people who are sensitive about their weight on this forum and I deplore those who think it is funny to mock them in general.
I was brought up to believe that it is extremely bad manners to draw attention to a person's appearance and I still support that.

What have a fat bird and a moped got in common?
Both great to ride until your mates see you with them!!
Seriously though, don't get people who are fat through choice and eat and eat and eat. They get themselves to the point they can't play with their kids, or walking becomes an issue. Obese people are as bad as smokers - cost the NHS a fortune Was in Budapest this weekend and this english lass in front of us, ok wasn't a round ball, but was fat and waddled because she had to move one leg round the other to walk - WTF

Not so sure. You might not want it to be true, but the links are there. Here's the very first one Google came up with;
Obesity linked to poor education | Herald Sun
Education, income and obesity are incestuously linked. Of course there will always be exceptions, and in today's society it's harder than it's ever been to avoid being tempted by the array of quick, calorific food on offer. But those of poorer educational and socio-economic backgrounds succumb soonest. Fact of life i'm afraid.

I weigh 17st 4lb and am 5'10ft so am what you would call fat. I eat very small meals and don't drink any booze. So I must be fat because I'm a lazy bastid right?
I worked like a dog since 15 and sometimes worked 2 jobs. I have never asked for anything in my life, if I wanted something I worked for it. I stuggled all my adult life to put weight on as I rarely touched 10st. I suffered being called Q-tip and dipstick becasue I was so slim. My nickname was whippet. But now I'm fat! Fat because I'm lazy, eat like a pig and drink like a fish?
Nope I'm fat because I am in a wheelchair and can't exercise any more due to my disability. I'm fat!
Laugh away f*ckwits!
