I used to work for Homebase, on their Ecommerce site. You would be amazed at how some users would wait up til 3am, searching the site for pricing errors e.g. items that had been priced wrong, and buy them. Greed used to always get them caught, as an order for 50 cans of paint, or 20 B&D drills used to give the game away.

Mind you, you would be shocked aty how cheap these stores buy things in. So much profit in those items.

I hate a vast amount of our "c*nters" to be honest

Some of them are good, but the majority seam to be bell ends

It does get you down when you have to deal with bellends every single day, i can understand why checkout staff would get pissed off, i was called "the grumpy one" yesterday by this old woman

Reading small print should be done as much as possible in today's times IMO

We recently ran a promo with the sun newspaper, we knew it was going to happen, 4quid off the price of a top wash. The small print stated that it was only valid on the day it was printed, (iirc thursday) a stupid condition IMO as if it rained nobody would use it, anyway you can imagine what happened, 4 people came in on the same day, the rest all came at the weekend "sorry sir that's not valid"

I have not seen the supermarket "scam" yet, but that's probably because i always read the small print on the offers, i would imagine that i always read the small print, because i have to deal with irate customers who don't read the small print, every day

The missus does our home food shopping, and she just bangs everything in the trolley without even pricing stuff up, then complains it is to much i can do a shop for about half the cost of hers, but i am not to be trusted with the shopping as i apparently do a "man shop" which consists of crisps, sausages, beer and ready meals

I have to say that generally I am ok with shop workeds, its a tough job being on your feet all day, getting mithered to death, having done a couple of days in the Alrincham branch of Woolies when I worked in their IT dept it left me knackerd, my job is waaaaay easier.

That said the guy on the till at Sainsbury's had a face like a slapped ****, was mumbling, slouched and picking his nose, the lady that came over was a bit grumpy with me so that sends me the other way.

I really hate it when people mistreat people in shops, I hate rude people, like the bloke that came in when I was waiting in the chippy, giving my order to the lady and this pillock got to the front of the queue and ignored the eight or nine people waiting and launched into "I would like to order some fish, a lightly battered Haddock" cutting me dead, I just said "Excuse me, I was giving my order" and he just said "I want to order some fish", well durr its a fish and chip shop, I think he meant he wanted something specific rather than a Cod but I thought that seeing as he cut me dead he could f*ck off, rude old posh ****, I just gave him a look and he made a humppff noise and scuttled to the back of the queue where he proceeded to give me evils, I would hate to have to deal with w4nkers like that day in day out, scabby chavs, people on the rob (obviously not Gypsies or residents of Liverpool), rude people, posh tossers who think they are special, I swear I would get sacked for tw4tting someone within a month.

I have dealt with the public, worked on the bar in T1 at Manchester in about 1990, most people were ace, all excited to be going away, generous with the tips but sometimes had a bit too much or were arsey, one group of lads I served (waiter service, as it got extra tips) decided he didnt like me (the thought of it !) and started taking the ****, after a few rounds of me going out and getting called all sorts he decided that he needed to come over to the bar to have a better go, launched into the p1ss taking again, I just took it but they seemed to have arrived hours too early to get tanked up on lager, I told matey that I could get him ejected from the airport by pressing a (non existent) button or calling security or the airport Police, he continued but went back to his mates, making the odd gesture at me, wasnt bothered as he could actually do anything. I then spied a copper, I knew him as working there late on you get chatting to people, this time though as there was an El All flight or something in, he was "packing heat", a sub machine gun held in the manner of the bass player from Level 42, I went over and said hi and we resumed the conversation we had been having, I made a point of pointing at this group of lads but not mentioning them to the copper, they didnt know that and they saw me, they looked horrified and went very quiet, I offered the copper a soft drink and he followed me over to the bar area, I swear the look on those lads face were priceless, didnt know whether they were going to get nicked or shot, though one of them was going to leg it, looked around and they had decided to go through passport control.
