Sometimes if people don't have a good whinge, nothing worthwhile gets done!

I am still glad that I don't live in a cardboard box though, or even sleep in dustbins-very dangerous occupation that!

Default whinge or whine?

Telboy ,are whine and whinge the same? And if new words did not enter 'our' working vocabulary then we would surely be up #### creek without a paddle. I'm sure W.Shakespeare would have seen the funny side of it!!

They're the same yes, but lots of dictionaries and spellcheckers don't recognise whinge. Or maybe it's only in Australian dictionaries

Pls do not make this into a political thread – it isn’t
Or having to live in Africa, India. But at least, there in the UK, and here in Aus, we sort of have control of our "leaders", and "whingeing" (Voting) keeps them in check, sort of.

Its really worth hanging onto that bit of control that you mention Klaatu. We have had no significant chance to control our leaders for a very long time now, and what chance we have got left is looking like disappearing pretty soon!

Well, it's erroding even more. Ireland signed the Lisbon treaty (Because Ireland will be bailed out - AGAIN with EU taxes). After Copenhagen, it will get worse.
