I usually get around 300 miles on a run for £30 and change. MY97 Sport. OK it's not a Turbo, but it's cheap to run (relatively).

Red face

Standard Terzo (except for a full Scoobysport system) 220-250 on Optimax. Although when I first got it the Petrol Faries were taking a tank after 170!!

UK300 with PPP(MY01), last fill up Shell Optimax 55litres = 268 miles = 22.16mpg. Mix of town and medium distance (15-25 mile runs).Goes sub 20mpg regularly, can get 28mpg if a good boy - yeah! Shell Opti is definitely the cleanest running fuel in my Scooby. V-Smooth. Always use it now, time my tanks to make sure I hit a Shell station with it.

MY99 STi5

I get around 24mpg on average (record is 29, one time) so i can clear 250 miles on a tank of SUL.

Normally i fill up just before or just after the little light comes on to tell me i'll soon be in the doodoo, so there's another 20 miles possible, in theory, after that.

Yup me to tplate MY99 commuting around town I only get about 160-180miles on £40 of optimax, right down to the fuel warning light. Town driving totally kills the MPG. I did a stint of motorway driving last week, and the range suddenly increased to 210miles. That was all 100+mph blasting to.

MY99, optimax

I have got 200 miles from half a tank when stuck in 60mph heavy mway traffic, but usually 230-250 to the low fuel light.

Rarely more than 200 on a de-catted 22B on Optimax. Much less if I'm not "careful"

50 litres gets me anywhere from 120 - 230 miles. 160 seems to be the most common distance.

Average of about 55 litres UL is 300 miles. If I try hard enough I can almost get 400 (392 is my record).

I think you've misunderstood the thread - or bought your Scoobs for the wrong reasons.

For the record I've only had the car two weeks so I haven't had much chance to do long mileage. I know I'm doing about 20 to the gallon but THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

I wanna fill up my MY01WRX with 60 litres full of OPTIMAX and get as close as I can too 100 miles TOTAL out of the tank without taking it on a track (totally legally as well of course !!!)

Why TF worry about MPG ? - if your car isn't economical enough sell it to me (under market value of course)

I bought mine for PERFORMANCE (and pulling) not economy.

If you want economy with a little bit of perfomance buy a Primera GT (my previous car for 4 years). I could thrash the nuts out of it (legally of course) and still get 30 mpg. Driving like a (non-scooby) woman 38-40, but it is hardly the same car.

EBRWRX,

Have you seen BS1's car? Black Scooby

FFS BS

With a car like that why worry about MPG !!!!!!!!!!

What a superb example. I'd love to meet this in the flesh.

My car is set as my wallpaper if I can work out how to get this back as a file AND how to send to Scoobynet I will.

Cool

I think it is crystal clear from this thread that no one has bought an Impreza with economy in mind

This thread was simply to see the range of miles fellow enthusiasts squeeze out of a tank

I think that some cars just have better fuelling than others, but getting 100 miles out of a tank may be quite difficult, you would have to be doing BIG mph to let it drink that much or run around at the red line in 1st/2nd all the time, unless your car is highly tuned IE 400+bhp your not really going to see those sorts of figures, you probably would be more of a hinderance to yourself and other road users if you were to get 100miles out of a 60ltr tank, 160 would be more reasonable thou but like i said, you would have to be doing BIG mph to assertain that in real life.

Scotty,
sorry im catching up cos working last night, but try optimax, ive always run of sul anyway (from 7 miles on the clock) and the only time i ever put u/l in was during the fuel crisis (and that had a bottle of octane booster go in too ) but better mpg and more performance on tap, some ppl have up to 10bhp better due to fuel! ok it may not seem much but its there

I average c. 22-24mpg with a mixture of driving on about 55 litres of Optimax which I'm happy with to be honest.

Ozzy - I've got a similar record, got 385 miles on a full tank without the red light coming on whilst stealthing down to Croatia in the summer on SUL 98RON fuel on the autobahns averaging 90-95mph all the way ... not bad at all.

However, with some 'spirited' driving I can get down to near enough single fingers

Cheers
Phil

200-210 round town (London) on Optimax, tried it on ordinary UL and was getting 170's!!

On the motorway 270's!!

It's a MY00 totally standard before you ask!!-

I ran my MY00 (standard) for about 9000 miles on regular unleaded and got about 220 miles on a tank (well to the red light coming on) so approx 50 litres gone (60ltr tank).

Now been running it on Super Unleaded and Optimax ever since and I average about 260-270 until the red light comes on. Most of my driving is on the motorway at sub 100mph (can't afford to lose the licence). I have now put a Magnex back box on and a GGR quickshift and I don't think the MPG has changed at all. (Well the quickshift shouldn't make any difference anyway! )

Trumble is that 24.67 average for the whole of the mileage - or just what you are now averaging for a car of that mileage

I can't reconcile your "who cares just enjoy" comment to the implication that you've been measuring every drop of fuel vs miles done since you bought the car

LOL

I get 230ish to a full tank of optimax on an un modded O1WRX driving a mix of steady and hard revs. What i have noticed is that you can do about 150 mls on the first half of the gauge and next to nothing on the second.
