that's actually a good point!

Awww, be nice people!

Boasting about your car's performance on a car forum is a bit like posting a picture of your genitals as an advert in an adult forum....all well and good until someone comes up with something bigger! And there is ALWAYS someone with a bigger one.....or maybe that's just me!

You have to have a sense of humour about these things and not take things personally!

The 200s using stock engine, stock turbo no boost increases. Its Nissans reliability stuffin them up not my incompetent modding heh. Jon, I really hoped I wouldn't come across another forum with you upto your usual crap. So, how are you and GDI getting on? Are they still a million times better than AWT? oh...

Ha ha owned Jesus.

Oh and btw ur right about it being a good point but in order to beat the scooby the scooby would if had to off been racing e wasn't e nearly stated that he was impressed by it's acceleration not that it beat him if both were on a strip standard and raced ur points would be valid. But I'm sorry a miffed scooby wud lick the pants of a Clio sport in a real race not a "I beat a stationary cary car is so quick moment" seriously it's like saying a micra can beat a murcielago at the lights because he was parked.

Dude seriosukyi know u love ur Clio and there is nothing better but belive
me a 280bhp scoob will spank a Clio sport and deep down u know it. If there both modded u have a point and I'll tell even as a
scooby owner I don't think it wud be comfy if both cars were played with.

lol, I almost made a comment about your spelling. Don't forget thought that a scoob will loose more of it's power through the drivetrain so 276bhp will be a lot less than that at the wheels

Ah but a 172 is only 144bhp ruffly at the wheels. Yeah I know but the point is modded scoob vs standard Clio sport. The scooby will win.

Fine thanks, how's looking like a post op tranny with a womans voice and **** to match working out?
AWT seem to be doing well, still taking money for jobs and not actually doing them... personally I find them unethical and illegal, but please continue to make excuses for them

Owned? hardly, have you seen Kneel? He's your typical internet nerd virgin lol

Who ever said anything about a standard Clio beating a 280bhp Scooby either? If you're going to make a plank of yourself at least have the sense to see what people have said before mis quoting them

Put the WRX up against a 200 and there wont be a great deal of difference round a track or in a straight line rolling blast. Sorry to burst your bubble 8)

Er... how do we know? Isn't that the point? OP was surprised by the speed of the 197 and it vanished. He didn't sit down for a pint and get a spec. It could very well have been modded.

200bhp these days isn't a lot and 0-60 times are also down to gearbox/clutch abouse and gearing. I know i can do a hard launch in my car but if anyone thinks I'm going to stand the needle on end then dump the clutch they have another think coming.

50 - 80 is where it is at really so you can actually overtake things. With that in mind many lesser powered cars, Mitsi FTO, and VTEC powered stuff would probablt beat a standard classic WRX. They weigh about the same and are only 20bhp down but they rev to nearly 8k so it keeps the power going. The Astra diesel is actually faster 50 - 80 than the VXR for this reason.

I like the scoob it is practical and quick. I do think it is wallowy though in standard form and while it is a brilliant car I wouldn't fail to acknowledge its short comings. Likewise i'd accept the Clio also has a number of issues to get past.

5t.

Dude Seriously, ur on a scooby forum and dont own one Slaggin all of ours off and generally pissing the house right off. Braggin about clio's and im a plank!!.

Oh and btw i missREAD the quotes not Mis-Quoted as you have stated!!!!

And you admit there is a difference then. i wud put the renaultsports handling against anything tbh, but as for straight line speed the superior torque and power of the WRX i personally feel wud leave the clio trembling.

Still ur comparing two slightly different cars tell u what

well get a dirt track some water and tight hairpins and go at it and see who crosses the line first.

anyone seen that renault WRC Rally video.. . . . oh wait.

although i think renault wud be a worthy competitor tbh there cars handle brillaintly. except in the wet then its

hello corner, hello moisture, hello understeer, hello tree and local A&E

scoobs are much better we spin out and crash backward thus saving damage to our pretty faces!

The original post was surprise stated at a modded Scoob falling behind a Clio ... hence the length of this thread!

Ok..... well I would say the renault will outhandle your wrx tbh (especially a classic one), dont underestimate other cars, scoobs have lots of grip, not great handling, big difference there.

No but Ive seen plenty of Formula 1 video's so dont forget, renault have a racing heritage (as do peugeot, alfa, bentley, ford, bmw etc etc etc)

Lol I wasn't mocking the Clio I used to have one if anyone cared to look.

The point I was making is the Clio isn't a great all rounder it's to small for that.

I think it's time admin closed this thread before people that don't own a scooby that like to **** people here off end up getting tracked down an battered. I'm not saying I'm gonna do it before I get flamed. It's getting a little pethetic now all we now is another chav in a nova gsi to come and say how he spanked a Ferrari.

As I said previously I dont have any problems with Impreza's and am a fan of them (bar the Madza looking one) and have even said this. I just find the reactions amusing when some of you say things like "french POS are slow, dont handle, unreliable, girls car, gays car" etc etc etc and look to make every excuse under the sun then compare the top of the range Impreza's to a car worth a fraction of it's value

It's even funnier when you get certain owners making out like they live on a rally stage. Dirt track, water, mud, leaves, hairpins... whatever, you seriously think 'you' would fare any better? We'd both be calling the AA, I just might be doing it a bit sooner

Dont get all bent out of shape because you can dish out the banter but cant give it back

PS - I honestly do believe that a 225bhp WRX or whatever they are is no quicker on the road than any of the Renault Sport range. That's my opinion, your dont agree... oh well, life goes on

I agree with your last quote Mr The Jesus, the 225bhp WRX after transmission losses is pretty weak compared to a lot of modern stuff.

Nice to see not everyone is blinkered lol

I am honestly under no illusion that the Renault Sport can keep up with, this is about the ONLY Impreza they can, everything else is just give and take banter to me. I dont mind alienation for having an opinion though
