Yep a standard new WRX is no quicker than my TT225 ( well it was now is around 275 ; )
as for a VTS keeping up- No danger- even a 180 would completely shaft it!
No offence VTS boy ; )
Scooby's etc feel quick but once you get over the initial traction the 4WD system weighs them down and a hot hatch is as quick!
dont want to start a flamer her BTW just thought i would air my thoughts!
cheers

Dave, get the Milltek if you have the RS. At the moment it is the only one made especially for the RS (speaking from bitter experience!) The others are made for the normal 1.8t which doesn't have a cutout in the bumper, so it dangles "gracefully" below the bumper and misses the slot completely, due to the fact that the rs has a bend after the backbox to hit the slot. If you have a norrmal 1.8T, I just happen to have a Sebring back box which I've been running on mine whilst waiting for the Milltek one.
If you are talking about the TT (Octavia in a pretty frock, LOL!) apologies for the irrelevance of this. The guys on the TT board rate the Milltek quite highly, especially when combined with the racing cat (which I've just ordered for mine).

Guys,
It's refreshing to see we can all have a decent discussion without slagging each other, keep it up![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
Regarding the Saxo, if you weren't impressed with the way the TT pulled away then it probably wasn't under full acceleration, to be honest.
Having owned an Impreza I can say that, in pure acceleration terms, it *feels* faster than the TT, as the turbo cuts in later and feels more like a punch in the back. The TT's acceleration curve is far more linear as the turbo cuts in from lower down. Despite misconceptions, the handling characteristics aren't vastly different - I took the TT back to Silverstone for a track day last year and my best and average times compared to when I had the Impreza were only 1 sec apart.

Ok I'll accept the general concensus and assume 225TT wasn't quite gunning it. However, as for a 180TT leaving the VTS for dead! I'll have some of what you've been drinking pal!!! Bring a standard 180TT up to Edinburgh and I'll bet you the keys to the Saxo it doesn't. That's the funniest response I've had yet mate!!
No offense

TaviaRS,
Yep I have a gleaming black RS. Got it new about 3 months ago and still well pleased with it! Scoobs + Skylines were getting a bit silly to run as everyday cars! It was between an RS and a Civic-R but to be honest after driving the two back to back i thought the Civic was cra(p)! First mod is an awesome sound system going in next weekend. Second will probably be zorst+somethingorother!
What have you done to yours then (you can mail me offline if you want)?
