Most John Hughes stuff is ace, can still watch it over and over again. The Star Wars trilogy is the same for me too, can't say the same for any of the new ones.
Aliens Directors cut is very cool and I remember Terminator being very, very good the first time around but it looks very dated now.

Not quite sure what we mean by Old Skool here, but hands down the best movie of all time is The Godfather. End of argument!
Special mentions to Goodfellas, Blue Velvet and Bladerunner.
In the chintzy but watchable corner you would have to put the Arnie classics, Commando, Terminator, Total Recal ('consider that a divorce'
) etc.
Horror - even now The Exorcist is still quite powerful and the original Halloween with that creepy music.

Thought the same when I saw Leon listed. I never think of it when picking my favourite films yet whenever I see it it goes straight to the top of my list. I'll have to fish it out of my collection and watch it again.
