This was breaking news whilst I was in Poland last week: http://www.thenews.pl/national/artyk...-for-life.html

So if you do choose to pick and eat mushrooms be very, very careful.

The main problem is picking woodland mushrooms.

These are field mushrooms that are pretty easy to identify. My worst case scenario is eating a bit of sheep poo that might be left stuck to them. But there again my dog eats it like yoghurt so it can't be that bad

Scarily we took the dog for a walk on the forest yesterday and my wife got excited about some mushrooms, picked them and we are just about to eat the soup. Wish me luck!

All but one of those looks perfect...

...now which one am I referring to

Just been the walk the dogs. Picked just under a pound of button mushrooms that have grown just since this morning! This warm damp weather is incredible for them!

Take milk thistle with you, works as an antidote to fly agarics, maybe others, don't really know.

This is interesting - http://www.nifg.org.uk/edible_fungi.htm

It appears on one of my weekly walks I came across a field full of giant puffball mushies.

If only I'd known!

They were very nice.

My wife spent her childhood not getting poisoned by mushrooms in Poland so I guess I should have trusted her
