As far as I'm concerned, people on Scoobynet should have an opinion.
Just as long as their opinion is the same as mine. Otherwise they should shut the ****-up and keep their wrong opinion to themselves.

Di Jon you did come onto the ESC forum and air your view's but you have to expect people to disagree with yours which they did.
If you can't take the backlash then don't post the thread it is still running and it has not been deleted or locked how much freedom of speech do you want,or is it that we didn't agree with you

I can take the backlash or someone else having a different opinion. Some of the replies on that thread were not constructive or even polite, some of yours were rude, agressive and un called for. At no point did I say that you could go **** yourself, but you felt the need to say that to me.
And you STILL can`t work out why your criticisms were`nt welcome.

Simple rule: Insult fellow users and your in muddy water. So don't be suprised if an offending post gets deleted or your taken to task on it. (this may explain some of the recent post deletions).
A common situation: One user insults someone, then that user retaliates by throwing a counter insult (what do you expect? ). BOTH users complain to us when the tit-for-tat mud slinging goes too far. Others users also join in when they think one insult is "too far" and back their "mate" up.
So BOTH user's posts will get deleted. BOTH users maybe taken to task if they carry on.
The same also applies to any user who jumps on the bandwagon thinking because xxx can can insult him, so can I. Or, he insulted my mate, so I'm going to insult him back. And they seem shocked when their posts get deleted too? I thought that would it be pretty obvious.
Play nicely boys and girls, and then no posts will get reported, so the mods will do nothing ( ), and I can carry on doing whatever it is I should be doing outside of SN (on hold to Sage tech support at the mo ).

You could argue, he who throws the first stone, then argue two wrongs dont make a right, and so it goes on, one poster trying to out joust the other.
I am fully aware that two wrongs dont make a right, but I believe in an eye for and eye, be it right or wrong, thats how it is, I never get mad, I just do my best to get even.
As for people who jump on the band wagon for their mates {or not their mates as the case maybe}, they dont deserve a mention, people who geg in on other peoples disputes are the lowest of the low, right down there with faceless keyboard warriors.
You've all seen it in one form or another, whether it be a fight in a school playground or a fight in the pub, where ever, invariably there will be someone with the woodenspoon, who will stoke the fire, then step back and admire his work safe in the knowledge he is not at risk.
I see these sort people week in, week out, people who run up to a dispute to get a piece of the action, instead of minding their own business, I feel a great sence of well being if they get knocked out, and thrown out.
Anyway, what post are we in, ah yes, having an opinion. I do have an opinion and I voice it, whether it be right or wrong, I am open to other peoples opinions, I may learn from them, I may not, I may agree with them, I may not, I may take it on board, or dismiss it.
I have learnt alot over the 9 years I've been posting on this site, I find it entertaining and I would miss it if I left.

I actually wasn't criticising the event, or even the people that took part. Take your fragile little ego back to the thread and read my posts again. You might actually see that I am all in favour of charity events & not against the ESC. If you want to come over to this thread and start trouble, please don't. Direct your issues to me via PM. This thread isn't just about the ESC thread, but if you bothered to read page 1 then you would know that.

Nothing wrong with having an opinion, but if it's tinged with judgement or prejudice without a perceived justification then you should expect some rebuttal to your views. You are quite legitimately a Scooby snob, and to a greater or lesser extent I myself fall into this category, but it would be naive to expect the expressing of such an ‘opinion’ to be plain sailing.
On the whole Scoobynet is just a giggle, never had a personal issue with being agreed with or disagreed with.
It’s quite funny as your 'non council house type' posting style is very similar to one I use to wind people up on another forum. Lol twelvety or some such other yoof reference…lol

The above are your words which after all the hard work the ESC members put in to the organisation we took offence at what you wrote if you are suprised by this then you obviously are`nt as smart as you are making yourself out to be.

Yep, I said that. No I'm not suprised I recieved criticism, however the torrent of abuse and twisting of words was not the correct response. As strange as this sounds this thread wasn't actually started in response to that thread, I had been thinking about putting this up for a while, although it won't appear that way.
While you are quoting my posts do you also want to point out the abuse that members of the ESC levied against myself & RA Dunk, or does that not matter because it was in the name of charity?
Also I see TomR555 is trying to stir things up over on the ESC forum, nice work.
Arkwright, if you feel the need to post more things I've said, out of context, please don't as I would like to try and keep this thread on topic. Pm me instead, thanks

Well TBH I Didnt see what was so wrong about it, dosent make it right or wrong either way, Personally I think certain members have taken it too personally and the rest have jumped on the bandwagon
Anyway OCD, I always thought OCD was short for Obsessive Cleaning Disorder, Wat does it have to do with this?

Totally agree with you on this one John,
It's well known that I voice my opinion. I say things how I see them, by my own admission I could sometimes be a bit more tactfull but that's just me. I call a spade a spade (not even sure if it's PC to say that these days).
Sometimes people take me the wrong way and sometimes its to the point of getting threatening PM's which never bother me. This seems a little extreme given that its just an opinion. I will put my hands up that I can be overly harsh sometimes too. However If I get corrected on something then I would glady take that on board and learn from it. My posts on here are 95% Subaru and technical related and this is where I'm most opinionated. Occasionally I've ventured into NSR and have had my head bitten off for an opinion I've expressed that hasnt gone with the grain but its my opinion none the less.
I think the site would be an awful place if people didnt express their opinions. It would be boring as hell. The infraction system almost ruined the site. I'm all for expressing opinions as long as it's done in the right way.
I would say regarding the tunnel run thread, you were actually bang on in what you were saying. The Tunnel run is a great idea you were just getting at the fact that the majority involved had really badly modded Imprezas there. There were also some lovely cars there but these seemed to be vastly out numbered by the lexus lights, neons loudest exhaust possible brigade.
Carry on as you are John, I've enjoyed many of your posts and long may I continue to

Shouldn't this thread be in ScoobyNet Policy ?

Out of context? Your words. Why would I want to pm you? So you don`t look bad criticising a charitable event in public?
