i got caight doing 103 in a 60 in Wales. Ive never had any points so this was my first conviction. Went to court on my own, i didnt see a point in a soliciter as i pleaded guilty from the start. Took a good letter from my boss with me. Got banned 28 days and 235 fine. I was lucky, aparantly.

Its better then admitting it

A few years ago i was getting chased by a panda car, to be honest i had no idea they were behind me and they were not catching me either until i got stuck in traffic at the end of the dual carrigeway.

They must have tried every trick in the book to have me say that i was going over 70, but i was clever and side stepped the questions and did my best not to get sucked into the chat.

I would assume i would have lost my licence as i was seventeen and testing out my new white dials, ****test excuse ever, but it is actually the truth lol

Came away with a producer!

at the age of 18 and after only 4 months of driving i got caught doing a average speed of 143mph, the Police car had been trying to catch up with me for nearly 4 miles i told the courts my parents had taken the car away from me and sold it, ten minutes later i had a 30 day ban and £250 fine

Every case is individual and punishment is based on circumstances and reason, also appearance and manners will be noted too so dress smart and come across as worried and sincerely sorry oh and lube up and be prepared to take one for the team

eh? So you stole the car as well then? I doubt the courts would be lenient due to you being p1ssed off that your parents had taken the car off of you 30 day ban for 143mph???? I don't think so lol.

No, I think what he means is that as a result of being caught at that speed his parents took the car away from him and sold it and when he told the court that he got a more lenient sentence.

Hey Tayfun

My friend and I got followed by an unmarked car on the m1 like fools we didnt know he was there and we gunned our bikes out of the service station. About five mins later the cop car caught up with us and read us the riot act told us we were lucky he couldnt get an actual speed and put it down as 100mph plus. My friend paid 4 grand for legal representation his case centered around him being an expert rider and road tester and could handle these speeds easily (bad move) I represented myself, put my head down said It was a moment of madness and that I was an idiot and that my bike was now for sale and i had money in my pocket to pay for the big fine which i most certainly deserve. Well he got a 28 day ban and a 500 pound fine, and I got a 30 day ban and 300 fine. I couldnt believe it because we really were going fast, im not going to say how fast on here but when we got nabbed i was thinking about prison food.

my advice is hold your hand up and ask for big fine and short ban. Good luck, if its any help the bans go really quickly and you kind of appreciate your license more when you get it back!

Dont quote me but if it´s for normalish speeding you dont have to, you do for the more serious stuff like dangerous driving, drink driving etc. Unless you live in Spain like me and they give you a beer and tell you to f. off!

So technically you got a ban then

The judge will have know he was taking your license off you ..

They can ban you for anything over 100 just as standard procedure. It totally depends on the judge that day. You just cant predict it!
i was caught doing 104 over 1.2 miles on the A1, i was told by my solicitior to prepare for the worst and i got 6 points and £600 fine .............phew!

Downfall????? my insurance went up £700

Exactly, judge said to my solicitor while i was standing in court that if i was not going to get a ban he was going to give me 9 points to take me up to my limit and i'd lose my license anyway.

Technically as fast as you can apply and recieve your provisional and past both your theory and practical tests you can then drive again (if it was possible to do this the next day you could drive then). Your treated as though you have never passed your test but have the points on your license for 4 years.

Obviously the judge knew that this was going to cause more hassle than just banning him for say 30 days. It would be interesting to know how quick you could do the above after being revoked

How long did you leave it N_12ead out of interest?

Aaron

i think it will all depend on the judge's attitude and how much your job depends on it when you go to court.

i made an aperance in court 5 years ago this month and considered myself very lucky.

i pleaded guilty with mitigation when i received my summons in the post and went to court to plead my case alone.

i ended up with 6 points and a £860 fine as my job depended on my driving.

one thing i will say is it was like a auction i wanted 3 points and a fine he wanted to give me 9 points and a fine (which would have ment goodbye job), then he wanted to ban me for 2 weeks to be taken as holiday but i had no holiday left. to cap it all off when i told him i had driven to the court myself as i had know-one else who could go with me and it was 1 1/2 hours from my home he said straight away he could not ban me (phew).

the only two times you worry in court in my experince are;
1; when your waiting outside with real criminals.
2; when they depart to deliberate your fate.

if anyone is interested i was caught doing an average of 136 mph on the m6 at 7.15am on a sat morning.
the road was empty and i only put my foot down till i reached other traffic, what i did'nt realise was the mercedes estate i had flashed out the way for sitting in the fast lane when lanes 1 & 2 were empty turned out to be an unmarked car when he arrived behind me in the slower traffic.

Right , all done , pleaded guilty with mitigation , female staff needed to be dropped off at night, dad is old depended on me and early hours of the morning the road was empty no good impression of speed etc etc...
Got told off but no ban 6 points and 380 fine
I think I was lucky though.
Thanks all for the inputs
Careful driving for me for the next 3 years now.

may sound like a dumb qustion to some but why are you doing over a ton on public roads? i have hit a ton once in mine and gone over a ton once in mine.yes thats all it takes but a law of averages if you do it frequently you will be caught i rarely go over 80mph prefer to use the acceleration to keep me smiling.
