I have Brought and Sold alot of stuff on here well over 100 items easy!

Then the I Trader system was bought in and I thinks it's brilliant!

I think it's all about doing your home work 1st and sussing people with low post counts etc...

Thats the thing cossie-nutter -I've had a look asnd Hull-sti hasn't left any feedback. His choice, but as you say feedback speaks volumes.

The best way to help others not get ripped off is by using the iTrader feedback system.

Agreed mate,

It's annoying as some people don't leave feedback. But I put that down to they don't understand it as it's not really that well explained! IMHO

Agree with that. Not that obvious as to how to leave feedback. I think the feedback system is great though.

Most people on here are honest. we are all enthusiasts and often every penny counts - often we are all in the same boat.

Occasionaly the warning bells ring. Posted in wanted a while back that I wanted some 740s - some bloke with a post count you could count on one hand offered me some for 100pounds - no other detail just left a mobile no. Could have been genuine...but!!! probably goodbye 100 pounds.

just read all the replys and opinions thanks. aladin when you say you have been fair about this then yes now you are but some of the pm mesages wasnt when you refused blank to refund me and stated that it was my fault thru the way i fitted it ive owned about 5 avcrs over the years and fitted all of them to my cars with no problems so that is not the issue plus i told you i tried my mates black unit on the same wiring were they unplug and it worked fine then i question the way it was packed in the sainsburys carry bag yes it was boxed to but all items was togetha and the boost solenoid is metal if it has hit the control unit or banged against it i suspect this is the course im not been fussy but it could of been packaged a bit better.so your saying post it back to and you will have it tested then ill losse out on my money and a scrap avcr if u decide not to send it back i called apexi and the problem sounds like the lcd screen has gone was there words as the buttons light up but no screen the fix a replacement lcd screen from apexi.can you pm me the royal mail details as i think thats my only hope to try claim from them if it was insured.

ALI B- i wasnt aware of the feedback that could be left ill have a look at that for future thanks.

A high post count indicates someone that's reasonably well known & respected on SNet ergo trustworthy. A low post count isn't neccesarily (sp?) the opposite but it does indicate an unknown quantity. IMHO don't buy from a new member as they could be a scammer.

to your **** comment

Always worth checking out the seller as much as you can, PM and get a phone number and have a chat with them about the item. You soon get a feeling if things seem ok. I have bought a Walbro and a MAF over the last week and both items arrived in good working condition with no problems at all.

If I was buying a 'more' expensive item, then picking it up in person would be a better idea (location dependent). If unsure dont buy it.

That just means until you get a higher post count and been seen to join in alot more then people will deam you as a new person who maybe a scam artist! No 1 is saying you are people will be more weary (sp) until you get to know people.

There are those that would argue, rightly in my view, that it is the seller's job/responsibility to get the goods safely to the customer. It's fulfilling the contract. dl

agreed it is the seller's responsibility to use the correct packaging and make sure its safe and secure.
i have bought things off here in the past before the traders score (second hand i might add) and can afford new no problem but if theres a bargain to be had ill take advantage as i know people on here are not out to make a quick buck.
dont forget some new items are sometimes worse than secondhand ones .
i will continue to buy from here more so when i buy another scooby
SOONER or later need a winter car

might add that i had more problems with a new car i purchased than the used ones i have had

It's actually a bit more than that. I sell things and generally use the regular post. But if a customer says an item is damaged or hasn't arrived then I have to swallow hard and replace. Of course there are some safeguards like recorded delivery or special delivery for valuable things. If PO damaged something then how it was packed could have a bearing on any claim.

I had the mother of all arguments with the PO when a whole sack of goods I had sent (delivered straight to sorting office) didn't arrive. PO virtually accused me of fraud. I replaced the lot but about 2 weeks later the "missing" sack was left on my doorstep late at night. I never found out what happened

In response to post title, I brought a black avcr from Aladdin early this year & still no problems. Further more I was with Aladdin the morning he took the car to have removed to ensure nothing gets damaged. So I feel you should really cooperate & try to resolve this as I have only seen him make reasonable offers to amend the issue.

True but to gain trust people with low post counts need to join in more on the site and get known and be more constructive. Once people get to know you then people will trust you more! IMHO

Ask your self this ? Would you give someone say £100 for an item and they have 45 posts and you haven't a clue who they are and only been on the site for 5 mins and they insist postage only ? or you darnt ask the question about picking the item up as you know your to far away!

Scam artists always look where you are from and say they are hundred's of miles away knowing you will want postage!

I hope you see what I am saying bud.

My advice to you would be ? If you have something for sale offer collection and inspection very welcome, with lots of pictures and full specs of the item's

The seller has full responsibility until the goods are received.
Therefore, and I realise I am going to possibly get grief for this, it doesn't matter a hoot that he has offered for it to be sent back and help with the cost of repairs.
If the product was insured then it is the seller's responsibility to make the claim and it will be the seller who receives the compensation from the courier/post office.
