No one found a complete fix? Would love to have a motor that could leave for 2 weeks and expect it to start...even been thinking of 2nd battery but big cost involved.

If you disconnect the battery, the alarm will whale for ages until it's built in battery runs flat....not great fix, better to get a trickle charger and leave everything connected. Plus, when you reconnect the battery, the alarm will initially whale its head off...really annoying but it's there for a purpose.

Anyone know the real issue, is it really the tracker?

CTEK is the way to go, a deep charge every now & then - http://www.google.co.uk/aclk?sa=l&ai...tek-xs3600.php
No more flat batteries or slow cranking in the winter months!

Question

Is there a way to keep the alternator charging longer apart from leaving lights on, must be controlled by ECU yes? Part of mapping? This still wouldn't sort the battery going flat over 2 weeks I'd expect but may leave it with more life for longer.

To keep your battery in top condition try one of these battery maintainers...

http://www.saveabattery.com/

I got mine from Graeme Goode racing, also available on ebay - lots of videos on that site showing how it differs to other chargers..

CTEK Battery Maintenance charger would be a good idea, can pick them up from about £30 and just leave it on the car in the week

Had the same problem on my bug Sti, tried all the same things, replacement Tracker, new battery etc, none made any difference. A dealer then told me the alternator only charges when the lights are on. Sounded unlikely but ever since I have driven with sidelights on and never had the problem since.
