Probably because IB are becoming the Microsoft of Bulletin Boards. As independant sites, not many hackers interested. As a large corporate making $$$ the hackers train there sights...

I had some time-outs about an hour ago Stu.

But other than that, it seems ok from my end.

Seems to be ok via the MOD camps wifi on my laptop!

Maybe the site is all now fixed but it does take up to 24hrs for the DNS Flush Server to communicate with peoples broadband providers so maybe it's that now everyone is waiting for!

Cheers Stu

Most issues are now resolved after installation of some hardware to block the DDOS attacks. Early on Thursday last week (PST) all our websites encountered such an attack and while our network is setup to handle very substantial traffic (it deals with over 50 million visitors and 650 million page views each month), as has been seen by other large internet sites (Twitter, Facebook, Google et. al.) such a large scale attack will cause connection difficulties regardless of what some IT trained members on here would have you believe...

In this we were no different, and it wasn’t until sometime on the weekend where we were able to implement a successful resolution to the issue. We spent a significant amount of time with our service providers to identify solutions to help mitigate this attack and have put in place significant amount of hardware to filter out the traffic.

For security purposes, we have been instructed not to provide more in-depth information beyond this but please rest assured that our databases were never impacted and that no information was breached.

As part of the implementation of the resolution you may have encountered some issues with the site and its functionality, we are working through each of those items, and if you come across an issue, if you could please post it in the help forum to ensure that we have seen it, it would be appreciated.

We have been (and continue to) work around the clock until all the issues are resolved, our apologies for the inconvenience.

Question

Well Done Stu (& IB)

Out of interest, would you be able to clarify the question raised about who "we" speak to about this type of stuff? Mods or you?

Since I took over just over a year ago the mods have been pretty much as empowered as me so you can take your pick. They are just as able to answer most policy and bug questions or refer them to the right place if not, which is usually me.

Christ, the way some people on here are whining you'd think this was the only site on the net.

Website is flying for me currently.

jbrslr.com - whenever it's loading whatever junk it gets from there is when it slows down for me. Not always, just sometimes.
