Who told you that bull?
The STI one is very good, its major down side is that its a service item, ie needs replacing every 2 years/20k miles, I saw big gains fitting one of these over a standard new age filter, like 12bhp and 15lbs of torque gains not to be laughed at, and ive never known any other filter do anywhere near that

Tony, I don't suppose you retested the STi one before it was changed. Only mine deteriorated in terms of audible turbo spool not that long after fitting. In layman's terms one could conclude a subtle decrease in flow ? The green however is still as audible as ever. STi is definitely better than OEM but I would be really interested in a new/used/dead test for the buy and bin filters.

53, She was very consistant on the several rolling roads (as long as the multiplier didn't knock back) so saw no real deterioration in performance or sound between changes

Tony - Harvey did back to back tests with STi, Subaru, K&N and a sponge filter and found the STi to be the most restrictive. Ok there was only 1.7bhp in it, and it probably means the STi offers the best filtration. On this basis I replaced (a dirty) STi item with a cheaper and servicable Green and was pleased with the difference.

Harvey used a wrx, I used an STI my test also included some heat soak, back to back or not the gains I saw were witnessed by several people
