Why would you think I am jealous? If they earned 100k they are still acting like tools.
..wait up Susanna Reid on TV!

Right, I mentioned about being shocked at how much train drivers earn when they were bleating on about doing overtime which meant no service on some lines in the East Anglia region. So if you want to have a go, it was me who actually started it!
Get over yourselves, why are you getting wound up, this is the internet ffs.

Let's forget what they do for a moment, or how much they earn. The fact is I'd suggest they are being badly advised to strike about a pay increase in the current climate.

So my input has ended & just for the record the only reason i gave input is that i havee friends that do this job & have been bored for hours listening to them telling me exactly what they do.
Enjoy trying to crawl out your little hole ........ you weasel

I'm sorry. Your point has not been made at all.
I'm really not clear what your point is other than you are taking this way to personally.
Maybe some time away from the thread will do you good. Come back in the morning when you have calmed down.

Try and make your own mind up, rather than read and believe the senseless bile that the halfwits on here have recited.

I DO get it, and in fact we are nearly in agreement.
What they do or don't do is not really in question. They can have a pay rise, they have been offered 3%...what irks me and others in this climate is thay want more.
I bet you do look again...people like you can't help it

Well, Dave. I for one who hasn't frequented SN much lately found the point of the thread entertaining, thought provoking, slightly controversial, (but with a tinge of humour). Above all though I found it making a valid point about those that appear to deliberately take their fortunate position in todays climate for granted, by being somewhat unreasonable in pay demands.
It is a shame a few found it yet another reason to roll out the 'troll' word which only serves as a substitute to the 'life lame' for anything that isn't dull.
Parp parp, coming through whooo whooo.
P.S I spoke to a mod once who said Moley paid him £2 to make up a story about you.

Gee Whizz
A fine bit of friction in some of them posts.
I am a railway contractor, i see trains hurtling by me at 25 and 125 mph.
The concentration a train driver needs is quite substantial. They have alarms going off all the time which need to be cancelled within a certain number of seconds or its flagged up in a centre. they have to have total faith in the signallers and the engineers to keep them on the rails.
Imagine this travelling at 125mph, trains passing you doing the same speed 2.5 metres away in the opposite direction. a train travelling at this speed takes about a mile to stop.
There are jumpers (suicides) on a weekly basis here, i'm based in the south east.
They are well paid and looked after but there job is by no means easy, i have travelled in cabs on occasion and they earn their money in my view and they have my utmost respect.
Yes i have tried to become one but not managed it yet.
Johnlogie, Which company do you work for SWGR by any chance?

Most people are dullards and have little drive to post a comprehensive reply stating their case without getting emotional and laughably aggressive.

Nothing was posted to get a reponse. It's a discussion forum, not an agreement, mutual backslapping forum.
Funny you dont comment on the threads where I let you down.

In Dave's defence I did freak when I saw how much they get paid, would never have thought it would be that much! Not like you have to have a degree to do it is it? To be on that where I work, you would have to have mucho responsibility (Area Management) and lots of qualifications in a relevant subject - and this is public sector!
Please tell me how it is worth that much money! I would really like to know!

You may have later made your point about 'how can they moan, when others are getting nothing/being laid off', but this thread was started being shocked by what some earn. And almost belittling them in the process, claiming it's an easy, low skilled job, without having any experience of your own to base that on.
To be in a skilled job, you don't necessarily need to have attended university, and have a degree.
I fully agree with the point about people being worse off, but there is always someone worse off, does that mean nobody should ever complain about anything, or never fight for their rights etc etc.?
I'm in no position to strike, regardless of how I feel about my pay or treatment at work, that's life, I get on with that.
I think you need to read back through some of the comments to understand why some have taken the hump.
Oh and to add, I can't say you are a troll. You are just as entitled to your opinion as anyone else.

So if posting on a forum isn't to get a response then why aren't there more 1 post threads?

There is a difference between debate and stirring, one that i'd hope you'd be aware of.
If me having an opinion (even if you don't agree with) offends you and makes you want to move insurance companies then fair enough, let me know at renewal and i'll send your NCB to you.
I am member here as a Subaru owner 1st, and insurance broker 2nd.

Moley, plenty of people post daily mail headlines to get some debate. For some reson you only seem to get hot under the colar about mine?
Now considering we've never met, and I'm not even sure if we have any mutual contacts, then I don't get the animosity.

If you believe that Davyboy only posts genuine questions not aimed at getting a rise/bite from people then fair enough.

To me, for a grown adult to be serious about mentioning the word stirring on an internet thread is a direct reflection of their lack of personality. Something backed up by them missing the humour in my sign off message too, after making it clear in the very same post that it is the dullards that get emotional.
I'm already with A-Plan.

IMO the only time you post on this forum is to wind people up.
The others seem to (mainly) have a genuine interest in the site. Your only interest seems to be getting a bite.
I personally don't see why you'd do that? Or maybe i just don't get it?
