Another one right on cue:
BBC News - This year 'in top five warmest'
"But the influence of La Nina declined in the spring and the Met Office project that, barring a very cold December, this year will be the fifth warmest on record.
Other sources say it could even be the third warmest."
I guess it depends on who is measuring the temperature...
Why am I reminded of Goebbels:
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Are you really saying that anything that supports AGW theory is a 'lie' and anything that doesn't is gospel

I don't think Monbiot has actually changed his views, he was joking

It was the lead article on Newsnight last night and featured on Ch4 News this evening, oh and the right wing nutters (like Glenn Beck) on Fox News have been all over it, so TV has given it some decent coverage.

BBC News - Climate policies 'improve health', researchers say
BBC News - Climate policies 'improve health', researchers say
another "bears **** in the woods" story
frequently used in health scares too
and the BBC is not the only news outlet to run these non stories
although seems loads at the moment -- is their some sort of summit coming up

I still believe that the main text changed from the original (late evening) publication and the next day. Maybe his warmist "pals" had a quiet word?
Anyone know a "rollback" web-site to see how certain pages change over time?

Oh loo. More of the same .... TBR.cc: BREAKING: NZ?s NIWA accused of CRU-style temperature faking
"... The New Zealand Government's chief climate advisory unit NIWA is under fire for allegedly massaging raw climate data to show a global warming trend that wasn't there ..."
and TBR.cc: NIWA's explanation raises major new questions
Seems a few more wheels are coming off the wagon! If only the MSM would run with it and give it the same importance as 'Strictly *** bleddy dancin' ......

Oh dear .... CRU Update 1 December - University of East Anglia (UEA)
"... Professor Phil Jones has today announced that he will stand aside as Director of the Climatic Research Unit until the completion of an independent Review resulting from allegations following the hacking and publication of emails from the Unit ..."
Obviously a deeply principled man ......
Dave
PS: crackin' pair of legs in the piccie at the top of the press release ....

And I bet the inquiry will absolve him and the entire CRU from any wrongdoing. Too much money at stake for there to be any other outcome

They should however be rebranded as statisticians, not scientists, as thats what they've been doing: Selecting data to best suit their objectives, and discarding what they feel is irrelevant or contrary to their aims.
Nothing technically wrong or illegal with that, but not very scientific nor honest either.

228 pages now!
I read it all as it developed and continue to do so and have to say i'm 'somewhat angry' at the MMGW establishment for lying to us all this time.
The role that the BBC have played and is still playing in maintaining the lie is a total and utter disgrace too. If I were a UK taxpayer I'd be complaining at the highest level. As I'm not though, I just won't visit them for my information that often anymore, seeing as they have proven bias.
Its great that the Express have broken the story, but its going to be a while until the wheels completely come off the global warming hand cart. There are just too many incomes and reputations at stake here!

Hmmm. Wonder if he had anything to do with that *leaked* information??
Copenhagen climate change talks must fail, says top scientist | Environment | The Guardian
"... In an interview with the Guardian, James Hansen, the world's pre-eminent climate scientist, said any agreement likely to emerge from the negotiations would be so deeply flawed that it would be better to start again from scratch ..."
Though he is wrong when he states "All that stuff they are arguing about the data doesn't really change the analysis at all, but it does leave a very bad impression," ... The *stuff* they are arguing about DOES change the analysis because it sdhows the data used was cherry-picked to show the *right* result and the computer models were *tweaked* to improve things still further ....

Independent review now.
You never know, it may be truly independent........
Hope springs eternal.
If it's an open review, it should be fairly clear.
