ive had my car done by andy carr ive got an apexi ecu with commander, ported headers, walbro 255 fuel pump, hks filter, fmic,3" exhaust from turbo back an andy has done a great job with mine an he seems to always answer my calls an texts if ive got any problems so carny understand why he aint with u.
minjeeta the reason for a remap is to let your ecu no what mods youve put on your car eg.performance air filter will add more air so your ecu will need to reckonise its there an prices it depends on the year of car an what your going for ive got an apexi which cost round £450 then round £200 ish for remap an on my last car i got an esl chip put in the ecu that cost £550 with remap but its a very good chip so it all depends on what your after

I think the post was saying that any form of remap could kill your engine is done incorrectly, it wasn't directed solely at ecutek.

When the car is first mapped with ecutek the licence is put into the ecu.. it is then there for future remaps. So if you buy a secondhand ecu with ecutek licence already you then get the mapper to install and recode the keys and remap it.. the licence will be there and visable when the mapper plugs laptop in etc..

Is the license the number when it comes up with the MY version when the ECU is connected to OBDII?

No, that will be the ecu version. The ecutek license is only viewable from within ecutek software.

These are the established names that spring to mind in no order of preferance. Many of them of course will travel to map a car.

Duncan - dynamix racing - Cambridgeshire
Simon Roe - Jolly Green Monster - Maidstone
Pat Herborn -
Bob Rawle - Newbury
Andy Forrest - Scotland
Andy carr -
Paul - Zen Performance
Zak - Mocom racing
