I'm sure I would have huge support for my 'no messing' approach ..... I'd soon sort out what was what.
Painful it would be, but we would have a fairer system at the end of it ...... I would execute those in Prison with no hope of contributing to society - I would fill the spaces with those on one of their 3 strikes ..... 3rd time you commit a crime you will be removed permanently. (an extract from my manifesto)

Time for Sunny's boz-eyed Scottish friend to take some of the rap for the state of the UK economy - too easy just to blame bankers. They didn't forced people to borrow money, they didn't p1ss away excessive taxes in bloating up our public sector. Amazing that any of the clowns running our country still have their jobs - how dare they pass judgement on others!

Pete,
You are such a retard.
The only relevant question over the bonus payments is with regard to the size of the payments and the impact upon the fragility of the banks' overall group fnancial positions.
Taxing the employers simply adds an additional financial burden, whilst at the same time generating additional funds for our waste of space Government to **** away, probably on some "climate change" matter.
So rather than improving the public purses exposure to the banks, at best the tax just recycles a sum of money from public purse to bank back to public purse, whilst in the process those that are challenged intellectually may think there is some good being done.
Its just spin, with no benefit to anyone, other than new labour's PR with the thick, simply because Labour have just realised that despite all the posturing the Government cannot dicate what is paid.

If it was possible to agree > 100% with a post then this would be the post I would agree > 100 to the power of 100 with.
Labour are notorious for wasting vast amounts of money at my (your) expense.
Rather than taking MORE money out of my pocket they should walk away, admit they haven't got a clue and let me decide how to spend my money.
I employ a housekeeper, gardener, bookkeeper & property manager directly.
I indirectly fund the staff at John Lewis, Waitrose, Tescos, Marks & Spencer, scoobynet.com, Iwantoneofthose.com, milfhunter.com, Amazon.com, Virgin Atlantic etc in a job by spending money with them.
If that money is taken away from me to be thrown into the voracious pit of quangos, solid gold pensions, moats, property flips etc then there will be less people employed by me - they may then need to sign on for benefits and the net effect is one way only - and that is negative.
Let ME decide how I spend MY money. I have no issue with the NHS, I applaud it and am 100% behind it. The welfare system is/should be designed to give short term relief for people who fall on hard times. Not for serial procreators, the feckless, the lazy or people out to make a few quid.
On of my pals on here "RG" has had to to take extended periods out in China and other countries to find work whilst his wife gave birth to his children. That's harsh on him and her, especialy when he would probably have been able to keep working in the UK if we were not in such a dire financial state. I lay the blame squarely at the feet of Bliar and Brown and the rest of them up in parliament.
It's time for a change.
I'm likely to be looking for a job in June - I think I'll be talking to a couple of political parties to offer up my time.
You never know - You could be hearing it here first.
Jods for PM

I take it that my work would be cut out to get you to vote for me!!
If I could convert you then I think I could convert anyone.
However, as you represent 0.01% of the sane population I won't be busting my ***** to get you onside in short measure, I hope you won't be offended

What gives you that idea? Delusions of Grandeur(sic) - I don't THINK so Sonny Jim - I've just decided that it's time for the silent majority to make itself heard - FFS it's the silent majority that pay for everything so it's time we had a say in what happens with the money. Labour have been buying votes under the premise of "Wealth Distribution" since the year dot. I have already stated that I have no problem in helping out with NHS etc but we (taxpayers) are funding people who are far from deserving and in a LOT of cases totally fraudulent.

Yesterday Darling announced that he was going to ensure that the UK economy was less dependent on the city.
I see his plan now - if he totally fµcks the heart of the city with this ridiculous tabloid financial management then he will achieve his outcome. Sadly, not by growing the wider economy, but by shrinking the city to greatness (actually when I say greatness, I mean mediocrity!)
As for the banks - most of them will do two things. They almost certainly already have a tax avoidance plan to implement and secondly they will take his 'super tax' to the High Court and test its legality.
Overall this was a very poor performance from a populist chump. I am raising your taxes, but I am really screwing the bankers so it is all OK!

It's just a bit of electioneering really. Most of the big bonuses are guaranteed and will be paid anyway. If anyone suffers it will be those lower down the income scale.
The shame is that it will appeal to the majority of the feckwitted British public who just want an identifiable group of people to blame for their own problems. Nothing new there then.......

Some might say that attitude is a biggoted, stupid, narrow, **** view ...... but I wouldn't say that - I am far too polite to engage like that.

No, Pete, i work in the industry, i know what happened, why it happened, and who made it happen.
Your sensationalist kneejerk crap on this thread shows that you have none of the above knowledge.

I, on the other hand, live in the REAL world ... so, wouldn't really be interested in reading it.

No Pete, you live in the "what the tabloids drum up" world. Big big difference. Your epiphany will be when you finally realise how you form your own opinions, because i don't think you're actually aware yet.

If you don't mind me saying - for someone who lives in the REAL world, you seem to spend an inordinately large amount of your time on the internet.
Back on post - New Labour = New Taxes - and haven't they done well!

Do you REALLY think we would have been better off under a Tory Government? As that is the only alternative to where we are now.
Maybe it's because I'm older and wiser, but I am staggered at the limited knowledge some people have ...... of basic economics and basic politics.
The Tories will be no better - I believe will/would have been a lot worse ... remember what the Eton Boyz said they would do to get us out of the worst Financial disaster the world has ever known? They said they would do, "NOTHING"
Whilst the Labour party of the UK led the world in what to do and how to handle it.

Joking aside, if there was some uprising in this country I certainly wouldn't want to be a Banker sat in a nice country residence!
