TBH a lot of people ask the same question but don't even make it past stage one as soon as they find out whats involved.

Keep it around 350-400bhp with decent brakes and suspension would be my advice, classics are great fun at that level Add 50bhp if its a lardy newage for the same cost effective, reliable fun.

I have paid out for two rebuilds in the past and have had to pay to get other bad work put right as well When you pay people to have work done and go for big power they are just a total waste of cash I have someone who works on my car now that I'm really happy with and trust his opion more than most others. If it were not for him I think I would of sold y car off as well.

hahaha.. it's running about 330/340 atm with a vf23 ihi... what would a simtek ecu add to that if anything?

He has a point too. Sure, if you want to quarter-mile, the more the merrier, but for a roadcar that is practical to own and enjoyable to drive (which means throttle response and flexibility as well as pure power), there is such a thing as a happy medium. More is not always better.

Why's that amusing? Surely the fact that Andy has a car with that much more power should give his opinion even more weight?
