I had one of those earthing strips on one of my Sierras - I had to! It cured the electric shocks I was getting off the door handle!
I did have a Police Siren on an old white Granada 3.0 litre GXL .... I pulled over loads of cars in that!! What fun

Actually I can go one better than my lexus lights believe it or not...
When I were a lad I used to have a saxo vtr, it was my first decent car and was nearly new when I bought it. Anyway I'd had it a couple of years and decided to fit a stainless backbox(can't remember what make but it wasn't cheap!) took it to a local garage to fit it which they did while I waited in waiting room.
A few days later I was driving to work with a stupid grin on my face thinking how cool my car sounded, next thing all I can hear is the exhaust blowing like a biatch. I pulled over as soon as I could which was about 2 mins later to find my nice shiny new backbox was missing!!!!
The stupid tw@ts at the garage had neglected to tell me tha the original exhaust was rusted and knacked and they had bodged the backbox to it.
I drove back down where I had just come from as soon as I realised but someone had already took it!

brilliant thread
proper laughing at some of the stories!
as for me..... i hand on heart dont think i have made any major faux pas with cars.
Although i did fit a set of Cobra Imola side mount bucket seats in my saxo, which was no bad thing, although they were side mounts, onto a sliding subframe, onto a car specific subframe, so seats were so high, my thighs were parralell with the bottom of the window!
needless to say i sorted that asap!

Renault Alpine GTA.
Nightmare as it was made out of alloy and fibreglass, the paint constantly kept blistering!!! plus it kept over heating, the heater never worked correctly, it drank fuel for fun, it was shocking inthe wet and tyres on the rear were 245/40/18's so bloody expensive.... but thats why i kept it so long, it was a challenge ever time you drove it - Quick tho
