Could we keep this reasonably insult free? One person has already been infracted for insulting someone - this is a valid point to discuss, but please without the personal abuse?
My big worry about this entire situation (with the failed bomber) is the Americans over-reaction to the 'threat' and their public but ultimately useless methods of combatting it.
You should read Bruce Schneier at Schneier.com to get a really interesting perspective on just real some threats are, and how woefully the powers that be react accordingly.
These were his initial thoughts:
Separating Explosives from the Detonator
Chechen terrorists did it in 2004. I said this in an interview with then TSA head Kip Hawley in 2007:
I don't want to even think about how much C4 I can strap to my legs and walk through your magnetometers.
And what sort of magical thinking is behind the rumored TSA rule about keeping passengers seated during the last hour of flight? Do we really think the terrorist won't think of blowing up their improvised explosive devices during the first hour of flight?
For years I've been saying this:
Only two things have made flying safer [since 9/11]: the reinforcement of cockpit doors, and the fact that passengers know now to resist hijackers.
This week, the second one worked over Detroit. Security succeeded.
EDITED TO ADD (12/26): Only one carry on? No electronics for the first hour of flight? I wish that, just once, some terrorist would try something that you can only foil by upgrading the passengers to first class and giving them free drinks.

Still doing your best to avoid answering me then?
You've tried insults now you're going try dumbass humour?
Why not just explain how you know ALL mulsims/immigrants are spongers..you can't of course, but you also can't admit to being wrong, so you'll probably go back to childish name calling

Yes, I reckon, any flight in the Western World, especially the US if someone brown or in any kind of non western clothing, if they get uppity will get beaten to death, even if its just a rant about the service, the terrorists now dont have the power to keep people sat down as now everyone has realised that you will probably end up dead anyway so you may as well have a go, you may get Brad Pitt playing you in the ineviatable film about it.

That fact is, Al Qaeda is not an organisation with a headquarters & uniformed soldiers,it is just an idea - an idea that is usually shared among a small group of people, unconnected with other so-called Al Qaeda 'cells', but who share the belief that Western invasion of Muslim countries is a bad thing (true) and the only way to stop it is by massacring civilians (wrong !)

I guess oil has nothing to do with it at all, lets point fingers at muslims, eh? Shame, Nigeria, an extremely wealthy African country in natural resources being systematically destroyed by big multinationals.

Shame Africans seem so happy to accept payments and corruption and that the huge ammounts of money paid by the oil companiesis not put back into the country for the good of the people just shared out by a few.
You cannot just blame whitie for this (i know you just love to) but Africans and their goverments need to finally take some responsibility, the politicians stop just lining their pockets and spend the money where it is really needed.
If the offers from the oil companies are not good enough then i am sure they would be rejected and higher and more reasonable offers then presented and accepted.
unless of course - Lot to do with corruption and the ease these black african leaders will **** over their fellow countrymenr/women and children to look after themselves mate!

But you really need to go there, any African country with possible exception to Botswana, to witness reality. I am convinced your views would be changed.

The problem lies in Africa and the africans need to sort it out, if the western power get involved then they will be accused of meddling and trying to take over. Whilst mosrt countores accept our aid and money with open arms, few are willing to take any advice or 'interferrence'
About time ALL Africans took responsibility the ones in power acted fairly and honestly and in the best interests of the country and most importantly people as a whole.

"I understand where you are coming from However, It is not realy my views that need changing, the views and the morals of this in charge/in power, towards their fellow countrymen and women. Greed and corruption have always been big in Africa, going back to the days of selling slaves from other tribes to the arabian slavers to help build the priamids or to the Romans for domestic/agricultural help or for fighing/gladiatorial/sport, etc. Sadly, It seems to be accepted as part of the way of life and how things are done."
If that is all you know, what else is there? If, for hundreds of years you have been a "slave" (Like the untouchables in India), what else is there? The only difference is resources, money and mechanisation.

No. The problem is with us, the consumer. All the time there are vast reserves of oil (Etc) in Nigeria, we will consume and the locals will suffer. Just ask Al Gore, he knows, he has a whole island of peoples in dispute. He wants the oil, they want him to clean up. We still consume.

Well that's the problem, and as is happening in the EU, Australia etc, our powers are being erroded. African's, like you and I, are too busy trying to stay alive, feed their families etc to be bothered with politics.

Not too sure i fully understand the above, assume it is missing some quotes. I see you have chosen not to comment on the African slavers and how for 100's if not 1000's of years they have been happy to sell off their own people to whoever will pay..
Please go on all you like, i believe that the Africans in charge need to take responsibilty, need to stop lining their pockets and looking after themsleves and spend the money on the country and its people, nothing wrong with that and no it is not all whities problem. Africans seem very happy to **** over their people for money, has been that way for 100's of years and hardly civilised or right moral really.
Anyway, here we have an educated Muslim Nigerian scumbag who decided to blow up a plane full of innocent passengers men, women, children and infants - might well be a mix of infidels and Muslims on board but happy to do so anyway - is that OK with you Klaatu ?

The UN in most cases now.

As I said, yes, African's in charge. If you are poor, and hungry, how can you fight an oil sponsored (Or UN) army?

Well, that is where you are wrong and it appears your "knowledge" is from the MSM in Europe. Have you been there? I guess not.

He didin't blow up a plane. I guess if you lived in Nigeria, having your resources raped from the land by "Big Oil", mostly EU (Shell) and US without a single return, you might attempt the same to make a statement, but I don't agree with the approach IMO.
Sometimes diplomacy/politics does not work.
(And if you think African's are barbaric, you need only look to Brits, the Germans (Need I say more), the Chinese, the Japanese (Unit 731) and....the American's for exampels of barbarisum you seem to think exists only in Africa)

I think it has something to do with "paying for the privilege". A bit like "carbon offsets", if you pay (enough) you can continue to "pollute". Even more like Luther King and his "indulgences". You pay (Him, as it turned out), you can continue to sin.
