You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself for a post like that on this thread. At the very least you should be prepared to apologise to KOT.

Can you explain to us exactly why you thought that was an appropriate thing to say?

I really don't get what satisfaction these animals get out of these sick acts, fair enough take the money and the jewelery but why on earth destroy family photos and p1ss on someone bed, I only hope the police catch these scumbags and they get raped in prison.

No doubt her wedding ring is already off to gold buyer man
Can't say how sorry and disgusted I am to read this KOT.

It is bad enough to rob someone of their possessions but to also trash the house even to the extent of pissing on her bed is truly beyond the pale!

She should be entitled to feel that she can keep the cash in her house if she wishes. As you said many elderly people find it convenient to keep a bit of cash close to hand especially since it is more difficult for them to get about. She is in no way at fault.

I can only hope that the villains are caught and that she gets some of her possessions back. If they were caught I suppose it would be to much to hope that they would get a punishment that really fits the crime.

Thanks for the kind words fortunately the wi has rallied around, the older generation certianly seem to have a greater sense of community spirit.
Gf spoke to the police earlier and tey said there have been a marked increase in jewelery focused thefts since these gold ads have started popping up. Why bother risking your *** stealing a plasma tv ad selling it on, when you can nick some gold and collect 400 quid with no id required

Mark mac I think that was a little too close to the edge, for someone of this age a shock like this is all to often the end for them.

Its comforting to know that should they be caught (and sadly the odds are well against that) they will be severely delt with by a caution.

Jesus,
I've just check out the above thread.......I have certainly upset certain SN members with my flippant comment....

I'm just a little confused here, on this forum in the past there has been words posted on more sensitive subjects that are "closer to the bone", I think there is more than a hint of hypocrisy going on here...

As for the old girl and the break in, I too hope the dirty crackhead O/D's on the ****e he bought off the "profits" of his crime and have the chance to rearrange his bone structure of his hands. But alas we all know that wont happen....

K.O.T,
Ignoring all the keyboard warriors, your last post was the sensible one, I think you realize that, as above, it was flippant. My sympathies go out to her and especially for the frustration you must feel.
You never know, the police may do their job, get him to court for his community hours, but at least you will know his details then....

It is disappointing that you are not prepared to admit that your childish attempt at a joke was a particularly stupid thing to do and is not funny by any stretch of the imagination.

You must be a very insensitive person to think that making a crack like that about an elderly lady who has been robbed and her house trashed is going to make us all burst into uncontrollable fits of laughter.

All you have done is to try to make excuses and shift the blame onto those of us who objected.

It is a pity that you have not got the decency to apologise to the OP for the nasty insinuation you made about his Nan.

Leslie,
Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate the speed of your reply. Like many awaiting to drag me over hot coals, you seemed to be the first to get your two penneth in first.
Well Done....

I would like to take the time to point out a small err in your wisdom.

As stated, I said my post was flippant, would you like me to define flippant for you......

You believe I am insensitive, well everybody is entitled to an opinion.

As blaming this on my "opposition" your logic, as such in flawed, I compared earlier posts in different threads that have been nearer the bone than my comment. What is amusing is you have quoted me and still manage to misinterpret what I have said...

As for an apology, have I apologized to K.O.T. That is between him and I.

Happy New Year.....

Nice one and the right thing to do Mark, i suppose one of the main problems with non f2f communication is the lack of body language which all adds to what we say/write which is all part of how we communicate and are interpreted.

Spot on Paul,
The written word is extremely hard.....If I said that to one of the boys after his Nans place was desecrated, they would laugh, knowing it was said to 'lighten" an already dark situation....

You picked a topic that has upset and angered a lot of people and regardless of how you meant the comment, it was inappropriate and childish.

How about manning up, stop trying to justify your comments and arguing with the people you angered and just admit, you made a mistake it was a stupid post and you're sorry for any upset you caused.

Really simple and it'll make people think a lot more of you, everyone makes stupid posts now and then.

Bet you're a real laugh after a murder or rape.... just think of all the hilarious material you could use to lighten those situations. KoT isn't one of "your boys" and was clearly upset at the whole event, your jokes were in bad taste and poorly timed. But trying to justify it, well.... sort of makes you look worse!

Pleased to see Mark Mac has been man-enough to come back on here and offer an apology to KOT. Ok you often see close-to-the-bone comments on here, but most people know where to draw the line.

I don't regret castigating you in the first place since I found your remark to be unecessary and misplaced to put it mildly.

No you don't have to do any defining, but the subject matter of the OP's post did not by any stretch of the imagination justify flippancy however you try to excuse what you said. Not only that, the content of the remark you made was truly offensive by its insinuation.

From what you say, we do not know whether you actually have apologised or not. The fact that you have brought it up however at least indicates that you must acknowledge that an apology is deserved. That is a good start. It takes a good man to apologise publicly of course, especially for a remark which was made openly on the net. If you have apologised to KOT-that is good and how it should be.

Thank you of course for your good wishes which are reciprocated.

Les,

Thanks for your mature post, unlike some prior to yours....
If K.O.T has checked his Pm's he will read my unreserved apology for my inappropriate comments about his Grandmother.

So as you requested, this has been posted in open forum...

For some of you who require slightly more than the allotted "Pound of Flesh" sorry to disappoint, chew slowly because that's all your getting...

[QUOTE=DCI Gene Hunt;9128818]Bet you're a real laugh after a murder or rape.... your jokes were in bad taste and poorly timed.

Now here is irony at it's best....
Murder and rape, why not go the whole hog, child abuse, necrophilia or how about a bit of bestiality

For Christ's sake man, where do you want to stop.......

Either you are quite mentally ill or the forum drama queen....

If I were you Dazza, I too would not stoop too low as you may see yourself. Another slice of utter irony.
You talk as you are "whiter than white" but in reality this is far from the image you attempt to portray with the above post.....

Cast your mind back to the poor lad stabbed to death over a Facebook disagreement. Your words of wisdom and empathy in open forum, and I quote. " He deserved it"

If that was a SN members son who died there would there be a severe back lash at your off hand comment. But because no-one on here knows him it is allowed to be said......

You are a hypocrite and before anyone jumps in on the witch hunt take a close look inside yourselves....

Dazza,
Sorry for mis-quoting you, seems to happen alot here...

"That will teach him" or "He deserved it" similar theme......

The relevance is, now if I keep it simple as if I'm talking to one of my younger children.

My comment about K.O.T's Nan was an age related problem, granted in bad taste....

Your post stated: "That will teach him" on a thread about a young man stabbed to death.... In your minds eye, can you even imagine what his family are going through as we type s*ite to and fro.

Yet, your post does not raise one eyebrow, alas mine causes a storm of complaining members....

Please find the below list of words relevant to the relevance of your irrelevant post.
applicable, apposite, material, apropos, germane; connected, related, linked.
