Will a STI 2.5 2006 deffo not need remapping if the second cat is removed, leaving the first cat in the down pipe fitted?

Can I just say. On my MY06 STI Hawkeye I am running the Sports cat DP and second cat pipe which was taken off my MY03 Blob WRX when I traded it in. Direct fit. As single parts they are incompatible with the OEM Hawkeye set up, but as 2 combined parts they will fit universally between all NewAge UK WRX's and STi's. This is also true of all cat back exhausts.

So in theroy, most of the full de-cat down pipes would fit, just not the two piece ones mixed up etc.

You may still get some overboost even just removing this cat. I have heard of a few people complaining of fuel cut overboost post second cat removal full throttle 4th 5k revs change to 5th full throttle again c.5k revs. Fault code P0244 IIRC.

Correct, with normal 2.5/3" bore considerations. Mixing 'either or' would come up short or long depending on the mix lol

Normaly I change at say 4.2K 4.5K in most gears, never above and up to now, never droped a gear to rev above these either, so should be OK?

yeah a downpipe and second cat off a blobeye will fit as the overall length is the same as the overall length of a hawkeye combination, but you can't mix the two.

you can use the second one if you get a matching blobeye 2nd cat pipe, but come mot time your original 2nd cat pipe will not fit.

Only heard about STi's with VF43 rather than the TD04.

I'd jump on the H&S GB running atm if it were me

Exhausts UK are doing a full first and second decat pipe with a 200cell sports cat for £265. How would this compare to a full decat and remap?

Thats a very good price, but some sports cats are useless, better of going full decat.
Don't they do a decat down pipe.??

Yeah they do, they say on there website "200 cell Sports catalyst.

(We have stopped making the 100 cell version due to cars not passing the MOT levels . )

Fits All Turbo Models 94 - 07

This part fits from the Turbo to the center section, Tig welded 3" bore grade 304 stainless steel with open neck design , 200 cell Sports Cat , which will increase power gains up to 20BHP from the standard catalyst. "

the full decat pipe is £135 but means freindly MOT station or pipe change at MOT time.

So no sports CAT is any good then, looks like a full decat is the only option, £135 for full decat one piece or £195 + £103.50 for the H&S two piece.
whats wiered is theat H & S also call them newage parts like they do on ebay but ebay are wrong?

Newage is any thing after the classic, so bugeye, blobeye, hawkeye and hatchback.
You need to go by date 2006-2007. It's very misleading.

Sports cats are normally on the downpipe like the prodrive ones.
