Yes mate, that's right.

Black ones are "normal" forged ones the the blue are the mag ones. Was going to power coat them black too but part of me feels I should leave them mag blue.

Jon it's a low offset that creates the dish effect. The inovits are a copy of TE37's.

Love that Golf below, but can you say yank fashion *****; slammmed agressive offset, front tow loop, smoothed with a roof rack and (weak), fixie

What offset are the Inovits and would TE37's with that offset like the image you put there fit on a classic?

Talking Offset from 16" OEM running OEM brakes etc is not the same as 17/18 etc. Different considerations apply which is why Prodrive et al. use various offsets for their wheels depending on STi/WRX application and wheel style. Also some people think they have ubber light wheels at 6.9kg printed on the rim when this is infact part of the VIA load rating etc.

OooooooooOOOOoooooo lol

Exactly my point, but I wasn't fishing for you, more the rota users that quote 6.9, as they are no where near that.

Stu / Trails... you guys seem to be knowledgeable when it comes to wheels.

Currently have the Inovit Redlines on it in a 18*7.5 guise (215/35 tyres) - no idea on offset but have a small spacer in there as well. I'm tempted to move down to 17" wheels to get a wider tread on there but would you know if 17" clear AP 6 pots?

Also, do you know the correct offset to go for 17 and 18 inch wheels? I'm thinking (he says, depending on cash flows over the next couple of months) of going for Advan RS wheels and there are literally loads of options for width/offset/diameter on the Newera parts website.

Any help appreciated. Many thanks!

Ross, different 17's have different clearances, but as a rule AP 6 pots fit with the same 330 disks as 4 pots under 17's. The Advans you want (cracking choice btw), are 5x100, 17.75, ET +48

Have I missed anything Stu?

thanks fella

I have the 6 pots with 330mm PF discs.

7.5 wide? I thought I might be able to stretch to 8.0 if I dropped an inch of the diameter?

Fingers crossed on the Advans... kind of dependent of if there is a decent bonus coming my way though.

I know Lee is running 18x8 GT1's on his track RB5 but has had his arches rolled within an inch of their life...I only really know about standardish sized rims rather than different offsets\widths, so wouldn't want to steer you in the wrong direction...lots of good wheel knowledge on NASOIC though

I'm not keen on rolling the arches so it will either be 18*7.5 (with 215*35, which is what I run at the moment) or 17*8 (with.. not sure.. maybe 225*45?) or 17*7.5 as you suggest.

The only car I have seen the RS on was the car belonging K18LLER and he had 17's if I recall correctly. 17's are significantly cheaper too.. hmmm

I've been running 17 x 215 x 40 since I swapped the awful 18's my wagon came with 6 years ago with no issues, rims have always been 17x7.5 too

Rossi also need to consider the tyre you run. Vredestein Sessantas come up wider than the Toyo T1R's for example as do the F1's. I had Toyo 235/40/18 on some 8"'s and they looked very skinny in comparison to the vredesteins.

So you could go 8" and run a 215 vredestein and achieve almost the same rim protection as say a 225 toyo.

My Rota Torques 17x7.5 just clear the Brembos for offset @48 and run 215/40's. Were you concerned about the length of the calliper too?

Interesting point on different tyres. I've only ever tried three different tyres on two different Imprezas... The standard 17" Pirelli they fit on the Prodrive wheels of a UK classic (I think Trails used to have these exact wheels at one point as well). Toyo T1R's and now using Yoko Parada Spec II's. To be honest, none have blown me away as far as performance goes, the Yoko's being the best.

Heard many a good thing about the Vredestein.

It seems I need to order the RS in. I would prefer to go somewhere that stocks them so I can maybe try a couple of different size/tyre combinations.

Whether I go for 8 wide or 7.5 wide, does the +48 offset still applies?

I'm concerned about both length and width of the calipers, I would prefer not to use spacers either if possible.

Apologies to Wrighty for jumping on his thread. I hope this is an open one about lightweight wheels in general rather than just pictures.. sorry.
