right then, another couple of hours freezing my nuts off this morning, and i think i may have found out what was wrong with this engine.

i have had some piston failures in my time but i think this one tops them all.as for doing anything more with this engine i think all its good for now is scrap.just got to decide what motor to put back in now.i was thinking of something like an sti8 bottom end but then i would want to be fitting bigger injectors and turbos and so on,but i dont want this one to take over my life like my other so i think if i can get a good standered engine that runs ok that will do me fine.japspeed have a complete engine, turbo, fm,intercooler and clutch which they say has had a refurb 500 miles ago.but they want a grand for it which is a bit more than what i wanted to spend and i dont need the front mount or clutch or turbo, but i suppose i could sell them on after.

have been struggling to find another engine of the same year to fit straight in,so i have agreed sale of another my99 scoob which i am going to pick up tomorrow.this one has a few good bits on it,so i plan to make one good one out of the 2 and sell the bits that are left.

right then here she is no3.got the train down to birmingham this morning so i could drive it home.its got quite a few miles on clock but she's as smooth as a babys botty.i took the coilovers off the wagon and sold them on so now i have this as its only got standered suspension on that will do for the wagon.the engine will come out and go in the wagon also then all other parts are up for sale.heres a link to the original add for a list of parts thats on it if anyone needs anything.

had a couple of hours spair this afternoon so i fitted the clutch that came with the wagon to the good engine.then i bobbed the engine back in,i wish i had done this with the sti years back and saved myself thousands as they are the easiest cars to work on.engine is now in,just intercooler+battery to fit then its time to fire it up.p.s did the clutch release bearing my way and it worked a treat.

haha, well done mate i wasn't sure about 'your way' when we spoke the other day.i just had visions of you shining a light through the fork hole trying to spin the bearing round
seems you dont muck about though so you'll have to get cracking and finish it off now so you can get down the dyno with us and see if its all running sweetly.
i think the puma deserves a well earned rest as well

Tim
