I had a "Rhino" post fitted at the end off my drive !
Basically a "Rhino" post is a strong security post that a lot of motor dealers use on their forecourts. Its easy, all I have to do is drive the car out of the garage, leave it running then go to shut the garage then unlock the post and go because the post drops in the ground !
For added security they can be even fitted inside the garage door

Question

Is it a fully submerging one? ie it retracts flush to the ground. If it is how hard was it to fit and does it fill with water? got one on order from KLAMP-IT.CO.UK PART CODE KTARP 150 SQUID not bad.

Yes they are fully submerged,it has a flap over the top
They can fill with water, but it all depends where they are placed and how the are fitted
Rhino Protech will actually fit them for you has they have to be set in concrete and go to a depth of 3ft
If anybody is interested they can be contacted on (01625)-873011

I get in, reverse out, turn off, disclock, arm car, apply wheel clamp, unplug ECU, tie Rottweiler to wing mirror, arm Tracker, get wife to stand over car with 12 bore, shut garage door, reverse process, go to work.

WHy would I need a remote door?

If you have a Clifford alarm with a turbo timer or a turbo timer on it's own you can get out lock the car and shut the garage door then hop back in.

2 solutions ;

get another key cut and lock the door with the spare or get someone to close it for you.

I've always made sure the drive is flat on the houses I've bought. Its easier to work on the car and you can push the car out off the garage too.

Easy answer is surely just to take all the sh*t out the garage and then you can just leave it open.

Agree with those that wouldnt live where they are scared of leaving car when shut garage door

However, in my old MY98 I had restarting probs when I took car out of garage and then stopped it as it would flood on cold cycle and then have to be left for 1/2 an hour. Isnt restarting like this from cold also supposed to create excessive engine wear?

Why not get a Pug 306 TD like my neighbour and avoid the problem ?, on cold mornings he starts it up and leaves it running (open keys in) for a bit just long enough to

Nip back to bed for a nap
sort the missus
Have a shower
have breakfast (full English I suspect)
Watch a bit of telly
etc etc

and then he comes back to it, 30 mins was the record, nothing like Diesel Clatter at 6 am and the smell of Diesel smoke wafting up.

Next winter I think I will nick it on principle and hide it somewhere for 24 hrs, which would be funny cos he's a copper !

Seriously, its putting me off buying a Scoob, it seems every hourney has to be planned from start to finish with security in mind, Im fairly cautious myself but not being able to leave it running for 10 secs while I shut the garage would do my head in.

Are you my neighbour?
I use my d-turbo for work, save me my01 for best, and I do exactly as you have described but I lock the car with the spare key whilst its de-frosting.I didnt know it was so annoying, but the way I look at it is IF IM UP YOUR UP sorry but never have had much respect for others.
