@TX, Looks Autobahn to me and they seem to sit lower IIRC.

No mesh FTW.

I would mesh it simply for protection. recently I scooped up a pigeon which went in the front vent and hit the radiator. the pigeon remained up against my rad for 45 mins on my drive to work, still alive and it flew off after i coaxed it out when I arrived.
That weekend i checked the rad for damage and fitted a mesh to avoid any further damage.

Oh, I don't have a FMIC but have meshed to protect the rad which ias exposed in the lower section of vent on my 53 blob Wrx. IIRC you can see new mesh my profile pic

It really doesn't matter, such is the cooling capacity of the Hybrid core. Mine is the same and charge temperatures are kept well under control on the road (unlike with the STi6 tmic that preceded it). On a trackday I take the numberplate off.
