Haha.

If that happened in the carpark next to us, I'd seriously worry about people. It's quite small to say the least.

Although, going by some people, I wouldn't be surprised.

To a dwarf in a Smart car it would be all relative though.

Just to clear up some of the negative comments...(well not negative but i think some of you are disagreeing because i have not explained some parts very well )

I did have a look first in an aisle with some seasoning and spices but couldn't find it, i then looked on the over head signs but could not see anything appropriate.

I asked the girl at the customer service checkout as i know they have a computer which lets you type in a product and it tells you the aisle number. I was not rude to her in any way and i was 100% polite. I work in retail so i know how it can be, but all i was doing was taking advantage of a system i knew they had. My point was, she just said " i don't know" i naturally paused as i thought she would say "hang on I'll find out" but she didn't, does anybody think its OK to not try and find out? (thats not having a dig at any of the negative replies BTW thats a genuine question) i then walked off as she wasn't willing to help so there was no point in spending any more time with her, plus i didn't want to get angry with her as stated in the OP.

As for superstar01. You said if i spoke to you or your missus like that you'd "chin me". I have a question. Are you being serious? i honestly can't tell if your being genuine or sarcastic.

If your being genuine you must be so thick and ignorant that you cannot understand the point i am trying to make, and seem to think i am being rude to somebody when i have clearly not been. And you must be resorting to violence, or at the very least a violent threat as you clearly lack the intellectual capacity to try to challenge what i am saying on a verbal basis and feel it is your only option to resort to this violence. Plus to add to that, an internet forum is all verbal and most threads are basically all down to a persons opinion on the matter up for debate in that particular thread. This makes you very said IMO.

Oh and just to add, I work in retail and agree that the way you talk to a store employee dictates how you are treated. But if your treated badly it dictates how you respond as a customer.

And there were no shelf stacker's that i could see.

Thank you for your explanation, but just to re-iterate, if you had of spoken to my wife or daughter using that tone just because your fat one was all swollen through watching Gordon Ramsey or Jamie Oliver i would seek you out and chin you

S18, you are right (as I agreed earlier), she should have tried to get someone 'in the know' to assist you.

I don't know how Tesco work, but they may not have staff specific to a section, and if so, they would be unable to help more than directing you to an aisle(s)/someone taking you there, if nothing shows up on the system. If you had already checked the area, then a member of staff would probablybe no real use to you.

If that was the case, from the sounds of it, she could've been more polite about it rather than brushing you off.

why do people always assume just because you work for a supermarket chain that you are on minimum wage?

Because unless you are in management or a supervisor of some sort, people usually are on/or around minimum wage. Nightshift excluded.

Assuming the wage people earn doesn't bother me so much, it's the attitude we are all thick, or are there to be belittled that annoys me.

I'm not sure about your work colleagues Lisa but if they are anything like mine, I can understand why people may think we are all thick!

I don't know if people that work in supermarkets are thick or not, but what i do know is that supermarkets and McDonalds are the only groath industries.
The demise of manufacturing in this country means we will all either be working in one of the service industries or IT.

Groath!

Yes, why is it always assumed that because one works in a supermarket, one is thick?

i remeber doing nights a couple of years ago in sainsburys because i had lost my old job and needed one fast, i was near enough minimum wage because you don't get the proper pay until you've been there six months. lets just say i only lasted a couple of months as it is soul destroying, the most boring job in the world and the people who i had to work with were some of the strangest people i've ever met.

oh and my answer to the original question is i would of stood in the aisle for half an hour getting grumpy because i couldn't find it.

Just off to Tesco now, for some milk and bread. If I encounter any poor service, I shall report it upon my return.

i try not to ask and will carefully look as i find in our local tesco if you ask someone working there, they insist on leaving what they are doing, and escorting you to the item, although done efficiently and courteously. i end up feeling embarrassed. (although i never know if the workers husband or father is monitoring the customer for attitude with a view to 'chin' offenders) OIIII, MATE NO!!!

Get a life you gimp, if you had spoken to my wife or daughter using that tone just because of the latest TV cookery fad, i would seek you out and chin you.
If you are physically or mentally disabled and are unable to do your own shopping, please eccept my apologies.
You deserve a good bollocking for such an unnecessarily ill mannered post! Nothing clever about that believe me!

I agree with Lisa's post and would also make the point that supermarkets find it necessary to change all their shelves around from time to time so that when you want to find something you have to go on a grand tour to find it. Obviously done to try to make you buy more when you see it.

Just what you don't want at any time but especially if you are disabled or whatever.

What tone? I don't understand what you mean by my tone as i didn't have a negative attitude. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but i would like to know what exactly you think i have done wrong?

Oh and i don't watch cookery programs, a restaurant used to sell the particular meal but then got bought out, so i wanted to make it.

subaruturbo...

Surely if every customer did what you did, they would have to employ 100's more customer service staff? What makes you so special to think that as you can't be ar*ed looking for something yourself, you will just expect someone else to do it for you?

It's a bit like dropping litter in front of a roadsweeper. ''Oh, well that's what they are paid to do''

I would ask someone for assistance as a last resort out of respect, not because i couldn't be ar*ed looking.

Its snobberish, and I wholeheartedly agree with her attitude towards you. No doubt, there will be another thread somewhere on the web stating...

''Wound up today by an ignorant lazy tos*er in Tesco''

Not calling you that myself mind you, just probably what she is calling you.

Try seeing it from her point of view, she helped you out twice, third time is skating on thin ice with someones patience.

Leslie i realise that you are disabled, but my comments were not directed at you or any of your disabled friends.
The comments were directed at the lazy able bodied person who was trying to take advantage of the customer services employee.
As Mitchy260 pointed out, if we all took subaruturbos approach, the whole world be working in customer services and the queue would stretch half way around the world with folk fighting over chiken tika messala or green thai curry.
Best go to the chip shop anyway because that curry cr@p will make you **** through the eye of a needle, then you will be asking customer sevice for **** wipe material.
