Daft question, but why not p/ex the car? The Sport Special is quite a niche car, which may be difficult to shift. You may get a better price than you hope, and get shot of the car.

Sure, you won't get the £3k, but (and this is TOTALLY imho), I think you're being rather optimistic for that sort of money. Reasons?

Wrong time of year (January is rubbish anyway)
Country/people have no money
2 x cars on Autotrader & 1 on Pistonheads, all from £2300-odd. Even they're rather optimistic.

For a real depressing outlook, go to Parkers Guide

Either way, the VERY best of luck with your sale

+1

You really should budget on the sport selling for £1500. That way, any more is a bonus. I've spoken to a number of cashmere yellow owners recently and some realise how bad the market is and some point out that Autotrader has some at over £3K. You then point out that these £3K cars have been for sale for 6months+. A good UK turbo MY00 is £3K.

The one on Pistonheads the owner bought it brand new. I was going to buy it but we've just bought a business and I need the £2K. Still might though as its very nice

You are going to have to find a very good car to be better all round than the Scooby SS.
