The truth is "English" as we know it, isn't English.

Tell me about it! It's not the youth of today though, it's the society we live in.

Years gone by parents sat and actually did things with their children. Now they just buy them an xbox and tell them to get on with it.

We can't blame them if they choose gaming over learning. As a parent we are as much the ones to provide an education to our children as much as a school is.

I gather that a child being bi lingual from a young age gives them a much higher chance of learning other languages faster in the future?

So hopefully my children will have that advantage. I will wait and see.

Thanks Big S, it's now burned into my brain as long as I don't forget anyway! Hopefully our self installed SN expert in the use of the language will never have to correct me in the future!

I must be more careful, David Lock's interjection could have negated my entire post!

As far as "proved" or "proven" is concerned, I still think that "proved" is the established word in common use and therefore is more correct. My maths teacher was a priest and was pretty fluent in Latin too.
