Some more apps:
Run Pee - Tells you when it is a good time to go pee during a movie to not miss the plot.
HueVue (for colorblinds) - Take a photo, tap the item and the app tells you the colour.
FaceGoo - Let's you change pictures and portraits in a funny way.
Boost - Great action (better than cube runner!)
Tan Zen - Great Tangram game for relaxing times
Seismometer - It's just what it says (a seimometer)
Measures - Excellent converter for basically everything.

Yes, a live version would be sweet. MW2 has a lot of 'difficult' colours.
I am sure that the HueVue app will help out in some real life situations.

My new iphone lock screen and home screen now looks like this:

Done by using Lockinfo ($5) and this theme: http://www.ame235.com/ame235/2009/11...1/#comment-831

The theme is interactive - tapping on the weather forecast brings down a weekly forecast abd tapping on the time brings a calander. All very smooth animations.

Only works with Jailbroken phones but makes a huge difference where you don't have to unlock the handset to see missed call details, email details and text mesages.

Looks lovely, but you might remember the furore when people found out that text messages could be displayed on the lock screen!! It was outrageous, people were burning iPhones and they didn't even own one. Snazy on here burnt two I think.

I'll wait for the next update, I have a sneaky feeling Apple will be conjuring up something nice that's doesn't have the associated risks of Jailbreaking.

I want a simpler version of HueVue for sailing, like the green/red gel sheets you get for looking at lights but on the phone. It could detect the lights and guide you into harbour in version 2.

Surely the point of the lock screen is that the phone is locked? i.e. pressing the screen won't have an affect?!

Nope, the screen is still active with Lockinfo, but you can only interact with the lockinfo application that is running - you have to swipe as usual to do anything more. So the phone is locked, just that you can see a whole pile of pre-defined information.

Here is a review of it : http://www.appleiphoneschool.com/200...ockscreen-mod/

Mine comes tomorrow, YAY, so I am really happy to see this thread as it will give me plenty of examples of what to stuff on it.

Mr P got the star map app last night and WOW! It was amazing. I have since read reviews about people who have seen someone using it, and then gone and bought the i phone, for that sole purpose.

It's a map that tells you when your close to a celebrities house, and people buy the phone because of it?

You're joking, right?

Yep, Star Walk is amazing. When ever I see a bright star up in the sky, wonder if it's a planet, with the 3gs you can hold the iPhone up to the sky and it's like looking through a camera with tags on the stars and planets. I wondered what use the compass was, and this puts it to use!!! Well well worth a look, and I'm not into astronomy!!

I have got Flick Fishing thumb - that game is bluddy addictive and now my thumb has RSI from reeling in all the fish!

It also needs a good wrist action to cast a long way to get the best fish

Yes, Flick Fishing and Paper Toss can hurt your thumb after playing for a while.
