in the end after 4 scoobys moved in around by my house i went evo

My car even now doesn't feel as quick as my old car my99 car with 20g turbo even though its just far far far far far faster Its more a good thing as its a testiment to how good the newage chassis is. You probably sold your STI as you pressumed it never gave you the same feel on accel as your old car?? Two totally different cars, I just want a car that scares the **** out of me when I accelerate and I still ain't got there yet

my sti was only 360bhp/325 lbft but smooth power so yes never felt that fast
my old 93 wrx and p1 were more on/off boost and felt a lot faster at times

Ifyou run a P1 at say 600bhp you will need to cage it for body flex but my car is spot on Mine is still fully trimmed I even ran at marham be it running less power with a spare wheel as well

Come on guys.... we have enough infighting on hear between ourselves, without giving the MLR a slice of the action!

Steve,
A proper cage will make a difference in rigidity..... even to a newage.

So why haven't you bothered with one yet Also I doubt my missus and daughter would like bumping thier heads on the roll cage bars

After all mine is just my normal family car.

Steve,
Because it makes any achievement even more sweeter when people realise the car is a pure road car.

I spoke to Phil Keen before and after the cage was fitted to the LI/PS TA Winning Spec C and he said it made a big difference to the cars handling.

.
When I pulled my leather trim out after 30-130 I decided to weight the front seats and they are around 28kilos each, mine was fully trimmed that day and only running 1.6bar and I had never driven the car in 6 months till that day. I lkie the fact that mine is a proper raod car as well

The evo engine is more efficient and they can also run leaner than we can in subarus.

Got to high 400's with just a walbro on mine though but there comes a point where it isnt worth risking an engine for the sake of 'wondering' why it can't do it. Just put a proper fuel pump on if you are after that power

They are only borrowing our trophy for a year

Edit to add: which car won the overall TOTB title in 2009?

The laughable thing is the thread started asking why is there more 500bhp evos not which is quicker

On MLR they are still argueing with themselves that the evo is better

TBH they are both great cars, not much in them at all.

And a bit of banter is always good.

Prefer Subaru's myself.... but if a nice VI Extreme came up for a good price i'd be off to the dark side!!! (Or a VII RS for that matter)
